Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy Ryobi extend it edger.
The attachment goes on very easy, and it gets the edging job done. This edger extend it attachment was at a price that could not be beat. It also is set up to remove for easy storage.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JB Junk - Head Units don't have enough power for edging
Don't buy this product it will burn up your headunit. After buying this my headunit burnt the clutch up and Ryobi refused to cover it stating this is one item that doesn't fall under their three year warranty. Buy an Echo. An Echo will last longer and they actually have a usable warranty.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Borce123 Worst Reconditioned Part Ever
I was not hesitant to buy a reconditioned item at first because I have bought many other refurbished and reconditioned items and they have all worked out. I chose to ship this to the store so I could pick it up there for free. When the Home Depot associate at the online order pickup desk brought me the box I asked if we could open it to check it out before I signed for anything. Upon opening the box I couldn't believe what I saw. The edger attachment looked like it had been used by somebody for an entire season or more... and then stepped on... and then returned... and then sent to me. Half of the teeth on the blade were broken, the blade itself was extremely worn, there were deep scratches all over the edger like someone had just thrown it on the ground and kicked it repeatedly, and of course the single wheel was completely broken and rotated on a severely wobbly off axis. Trust me when I say that there was absolutely no reconditioning involved after whoever destroyed this edger was done with it. My expectations were not extremely high due to the fact that this is a reconditioned item. I did not expect a fully brand new item what-so-ever and didn't really care if it was marked up a little bit because this was going to be used for yard work anyways but this was ridiculous and totally unacceptable
Ryobi you should be ashamed of yourself to send out garbage like this if this was reconditioned by you.
Home Depot you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing items to get to your customers that obviously come from careless vendors.
I am literally disgusted with my experience in total. You've both just lost yourselves a life long customer. Congratulations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Andy Improvement over original
I bought this because the original edger attachment finally gave out after 10+ years and 6 power heads. Pros: This one has a serrated blade which cuts much better, and doesnt get clogged with dirt like the old one did. The depth adjustment is much easier. Cons: The mud flap was slightly annoying, as it kept dragging the ground. The plastic wheel is wobbly. It seems to put more of a load on the power head for some reason. Overall, I like it, and am glad to see the continued product improvement.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RMMMB You get what you pay for...
I have yet to use the product yet, but it is definitely a reconditioned model, after reading prior reviews I was thinking I would be getting this gleaming almost new product. I was sadly disappointed when I opened the box and found the only new part was the edging blade, and the RECON stamp on the side. This was the first and last time I buy RECON parts. I only wish that I had gotten one that looked fairly new out of the box, not like someone used the h**l out of it then returned it. I only recommend this product because for the price, if it works it is a steal, but for someone wanting something new buy a new one.

I think this is one of the worse tools I have every purchased. The design is faulty in that it has a skeg that suppose to follow the grove made by the blade. The problem is that if you have thick grass, a grove is not cut, then the little skeg hangs up. It causes the whole thing to shake and wobble then stick. The engine rpm, according to the instructions, has to be wide open! That little sucker is screaming, vibrating and jumping all over the place as you are pushing hard trying to make it go forward.
The tool was fine as far as a reconditioned item, but I had to return it and the power head. It was worthless to me.

I ordered this edger after reading all the pros and cons in the reviews. It was delivered quickly and packed very well. I could see a few marks on the housing but I had expected something like that. There was a new blade installed and I checked all the fasteners and they were tight. I read the included instructions and set the depth, then attached it to my Toro gas trimmer. This is my first expand it attachment and it is too easy to use. I followed advice I had read in some of the reviews about backing over the tough areas and had no problems. I recommend this to anyone needing a moderate usage edger.
