The pruner attachment appeared to be in good condition however it came with hard to understand instructions.

The pruner itself worked fine, but with the extention it would not work at all.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by None OK, not great
Bought the attachment reconditioned. It looked almost new upon arrival.
I attached it to a new full crank Ryobi powerhead. It would not stay in position on the shaft. The spring loaded button intended to stop rotation did not work and I had to drill the shaft and install a screw. Seemed easier than returning it and for now it solves the problem. It changes the erstwhile ease of changing attachments of the expand-it system. Maybe this is why it was returned in the first place.
It cuts OK. Engine is a bit underpowered for anything bigger than about 3" dia when cutting poplar It will cut larger, but I had to actually lift up slightly so the full weight of the saw is not on the branch.
Seems a good balance between weight and stiffness for light use (up to about 3" branches). For heavier use, it probably needs to be a bit heavier/stiffer as well as needs more power.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Firsttimehomeowner Awesome pole saw!
At half the cost and free shipping I could not pass this deal. First time home owner, paid a tree service last year and once I saw the little work they did for the big amount they charged. I decided to do it my self this year. I attached this pole saw to my Toro 2 cycle 25cc power head and I was able to trim my trees with ease. The extension made it even easier to reach high branches.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lawnrollerguy great product - I have owned a couple of them
This is a very handy product. I have owned a couple of them under a couple of different brand names / model numbers. I think as long as you own an "add on" or "quick link" or "expand it" trimmer any brand or model of attachment will work with any brand of power head, as long as they have the quick link feature.
These really come in handy when you are trying to trim branches that are too high to safely reach with a heavy chain saw. I have tried using them with one or more extensions, to get up to higher branches, and they work that way too but the weight and length of the extension can be a challenge.
I like that fact that this version is "angled" which should help to decrease the likelihood of the device getting stuck half way thru a branch as you are cutting more straight down from the very top peak of the branch down the bottom. Previous versions that I owned did not have this angle, and the the result was you are cutting from more of a "side" portion of the branch instead of the very top, and the device would sometimes get stuck about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way thru the cut if the branch was large / heavy.
When i first attached this refurbished unit to my trimmer, it would not cut. After looking at it I determined the chain was installed backwards. Once I removed that and put the chain on correctly it worked good.
Home Depot had the best price for one of these that I could find.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rimfire21 Great product.
I took a chance and purchased this chainsaw pruning attachment as reconditioned at half the cost of a new one. It looks like new and works great. Absolutely simple to use: fill the reservoir with chain saw oil and attach it to the power head. Start the power head and go cut things! The reconditioned pruner comes with a second pole piece to lengthen the distance you can reach. It does not come with any oil or a tool to tighten/loosen the blade or chain. The chain came very sharp and I've cut through an 8" green maple branch with no difficulty. I feel that this was a great purchase as I can prune a lot of trees without using a ladder or handsaw on a pole.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Joe1214 Should have got this years ago!
I got the reconditioned pruner since it was not going to be used all the time and I thought it would do just as well after reading reviews. After I got it I used it on the two trees we had that needed trimmed up. I am amazed at the size of branches it cuts through. After about 30 min I had a big mess to clean up so I got my chipper out and cleaned up the mess I made. I used it again over the weekend to prune some other trees and again I had an even bigger pile of branches. I am glad I bought this it sure helped clean up the trees. I think after I sharpen the chain it will be good the next time I will need it probably won't be for awhile though.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Muttley041457 So far so good
I like it, so far went through 2 6 to 8" large oak branches hanging to close to the house... cut each up into manageable pieces once on the ground. I didn't have to fire up the big chainsaw at all that Saturday...
