Really like the multi-purpose Ryobi 18-volt battery pack concept and have two batteries that power my Ryobi drill, hammer-drill, saw, light, saber-saw and now my refurbished Ryobi Trimmer. The Ryobi charger works super and keeps the batteries charged up and does this very quickly. The trimmer is just what we need to trim around all the small difficult areas of our yard. I like that the Ryobi trimmer extends the cutting line automatically and that the two handles can be positioned to fit my left handed grip as well as my 6' height. A good design well engineered and built, like all the other Ryobi tools I own. There is not a week that goes by that I don't use some of these tools all without a cord; the best part!.

I was very excited to finally have a cordless grass trimmer. When the product arrived it was obvious that it was not packaged very well. After opening the box, I found a weed trimmer that was broken into various pieces. Since the product I ordered was a reconditioned item I expected some flaws, but not a completely useless item. Luckily Home Depot refunded my money without any hassle! This is why I shop at Home Depot and will continue to shop at Home Depot.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spendstoomuchere I checked the box and inspected unit BEFORE signing for it (store pickup). I got a nice one, good for city dwellers
Due to the bad reviews from one of HD's suppliers sending out non refurbished, broken, dirty junk units I opted for the site to store delivery. Before signing for it, I opened the box and inspected the unit and this one was in great shape (looked almost new).
This is small unit good for around the yard, I was surprised at how long the battery lasted. We are talking city lot here, if have more than 100X120' lot this unit is probably not for you. Great for getting around trees and rock gardens. You won't edge or take down tall thick grass. It is battery powered Poindexter, don't expect it to cut through the jungle or thick grass/weeds.

Received the product with the expectations that it was not going to look like new. But it came out of the box like it had never been touched. Attached the battery which I already had and began using right away. It cut through 12" of grass growing against like butter!

My husband says this little weed eater is excellent. Light weight and easy to use. Trims down the edging of tall grass just fine. I love this Ryobi ONE tool set. So far we have the drill, circular saw and weed eater. We use the Lithium batteries. Our Ni-Cad batteries have gone bad and need to be recycled.

Perfectly refurbished, like new, excellent savings for an item a occasionally use. Battery lasts my entire yard.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PKnot Basic trimmer for smaller yards/jobs
This Weeder/Trimmer, when used with the available NiMH battery lasts long enough for me to edge and trim a 6,000 SF area without running out of charge. What I like especially is that the power doesn't slowly decrease, but stays as powerful as when you start until it is drained. Then, it stops abruptly, but one hour of charging and you're trimming again.
I do not like it that in order to replace a line feeder head, I had to replace the entire unit! The feeder hole on the head began cutting the line almost as soon as I began trimming and there is no replacement part. I was forced to spend $40 to replace a part that should have been available for around $10.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mam35152 Good product - if you already have a battery.
Mine arrived just at my local HD store when promised. A expected, It had already been used a few times but there was no damage or serious wear. The spool of line was also partially used - not a new one, which would have been nice.
The unit functions quite well and I am able to trim for at least 10 minutes on one charge - much less time than the extra time it would take to deal with the extra effort of dealing with a cord. It isn't as strong as a gas-powered unit but for me it is just fine.
So far, the (semi) automatic line advance feature works OK. It feeds out a little bit of line every time the unit is turned on.
