I purchased this sprayer and did not believe the reviews. Well they were right. I purchased the sprayer to paint the deck railing with Latex paint, the box says no dilution required. However, after diluting it, it sprayed for 2 minutes then started to leak everywhere. I cleaned it just as the directions instruct, but it never worked right again. I returned it and painted the railing by hand. Total time painting railing 5 hours, 3 of which were trying toy get this sprayer to work. Save your money or spend the money on the professional units. On the positive note Home Depot was more then willing to refund my money for the sprayer.

I bought this unit without reading the reviews and I really regret it. The sprayer spurts out large globs of paint during the beginning, middle and end of each pass. It also began pouring out the top of the container even though I only filled it halfway. I wrapped a rag around the area that the container locks in place to prevent more spilling but it made no difference and the paint just saturated my rag. By the time I made it through the cycle I had paint everywhere. I thought that I must be doing something wrong until I read the other reviews and now I see that it wasn't user error, but this thing is a piece of junk! I will be returning to get my money back.

I did not read the reviews before purchasing. I originally went to the local HD to purchase the cordless model, but noticed the price difference between the two and chose the corded instead. It worked for all of 2 mintues before sputtering big clobs of paint onto my project. I cleaned the unit, still sputtered ever other pass I made. Not to mention the flood of paint coming from the "no spill" cup. It made an utter mess. I returned to HD and purchased a thinning agent to no avail. Leaking and sputtering continued. I returned the unit and spent the extra $20 on the Wagner dual nozzle ...worked like a dream, however, the post cleanup on it is a little more tedious.

do yourself a favor and go to your bathroom and flush the money down the toilet cause you will be out the money but you will save yourself a Ton of stress and grief. This thing works good for about 45 minutes of use and then it begins. I took first one back and thought it was just a fluke , so I bought another one and it was just as useless as the first. After 30 minutes or so it pumps paint out of every orafice but the spray tip.Watch in amzment as your $40 a gallon stain goes evrywhere except on what your painting.. For best results stand on what you want tp paint and pray straight in front of you. be sure to wear hazmat suit and shoes you can throw away when finished

I can not believe this product has not been removed from the shelf. This item is a big disappointment. This product leaks paint from a small hole in the lid. You will get more paint on yourself than on the house you are painting. I have bought other Ryobi products in the past and was very happy with them, but I am shock with the bad performance and quality of this paint sprayer. I was please with the shipping of this product. I had the item less than a week, They sent a return shipping label in the box. I call customer service to complain about the quality of the item, Customer Service was very nice and they told me I could return this item at the nearest Home Depot Store.

I purchased this item to paint my basement. I read all the instructions and made sure to follow them step by step. It started off spraying fine..for ten minutes. Then it started spitting out paint and leaking. I turned it off and the troubleshoot notes said that if it leaks then that means something is loose. I tightened everything up and tried again. It started leaking again. I viewed the troubleshoot instructions again looking for additional guidance. I tried everything and it continued to leak. After wasting enough time fooling around with this leaky machine, I cleaned up the huge leaky mess it created and grabbed my paint roller. Sometimes the quick way is not the best way!!

I bought the Wagner optomist sprayer 2 week ago. I never got it to work right, to attach the cup was very complicated and paint only came out one nozzle in the front once I got it going. Home Depot - thank you - took it back and I got the Ryobi - I should have started with it. The cup attaches very easily and it sprayed good from the start. I was painting wicker furniture with glidden outdoor paint. We also painted the lattice under the deck that was getting dirty and ugly. now it is white and beautiful. This is a good painter for projects at your house. Use it to save time.

I bought this to stain my newly installed shadow-box fence and tool shed (from Home Depot). Worked very well. The shed is that rough panel slat siding board and I sprayed a see-through stain on it. Really did well in getting the stain on the texture and into the grooves. Same for the fence, I think it really paid off using a sprayer with all of the edges and areas to get into. It took about 2 cups of spraying to get the technique down - but after that it went very quick. I am in Colorado Springs, I thought maybe the altitude would affect the sprayer - but it didnt!
