Bought this to countersink screws in a bench I was making. It worked great, but went dull quicker than I would've liked. I got the bench done, but I'll have to buy a new one for the next one I build.

I like the hex shank because I've used this bit frequently on cedar fencing, and if I need to put a screw right through a knot I just pop this bit into my impact driver, countersink the location, and then switch back and set the screw through the knot without having it stick up or crack the board. About the quickest solution to a common problem.
That said, the countersink is uneven and not for finish-quality. Also it got dull fairly quickly and is harder to operate.

I have only used this in hard board so far, but it cuts clean, and didn't go too fast to tear through the wood.

Used this on a cordless drill as well as a drill press. Worked great on both. Drilled about 400 1/2" holes and bit still drills quickly and cleanly.

Doesn't actually create the smooth countersink they advertise. More star shaped than anything else. It works if you drive your screw in hard, but it's far from ideal.
