I lost another brand's version of a drill/countersink/driver at some point over the last year. I needed one, or something like it for a project so I headed down to Home Depot only to find they didn't stock the model I wanted. They had this Ryobi version, so I took a chance. Wish I would have read the reviews first. I agree, it's junk. Bits break like glass. It wobbles. The bit/driver gets stuck. Spend your money on something else.

First time using the #8 counter sink in pine board..... and it broke. Don't buy, stay away from Ryobi, it's all made in China garbage.

Like the other reviewers, I was frustrated by this tool's bad design. It consistently pulls apart and leaves the bit stuck in your material. I guess you could fight with it and try to get it to cooperate. After an hour of using it I threw it out. There are much better versions of this tool available. You don't need this aggravation.

I was relunctant to purchase this product just because of the brand name but there were no other options available. The product was on the wrong hanger so I thought it was $4. When I first used it the bit stuck in the wood and pulled out of it's holder. I tightened the bit, drilled in the same hole and bit intact with the countersink came out of it's holder. There is no lock to hold it in place so every time you drill it comes out. I also looked for replacement bits, they have a flat side so the set screw holds them in place, but could not find them either.

This unit was poorly thought out. Drill bit and shank are placed in drill chuck to drill pilot hole then collar slips over that to drill in screws. It makes for timely work but as you keep taking it apart and putting it together it eventually gets too much play and will not stay tight together making drilling almost impossible. I drilled about 50 holes until this $20 item was shot. Also allen wrench included is not correct size so when you go to tighten drill bit or change drill bit it will strip out the retaining screw.

Within ONE hour... one drill bit broke and both phillips heads were stripped and unusable!!
I had the opposite dproblem of another person... i would drill the pilot hole in the wood, and as I tried to back it out, the shaft popped out, leaving the drill bit in the wood. I had to hand twist it out every time.
I had an older one that was all inclusive, no extra hex key, and had a 'locking' piece... what happened to that one? It lasted 8 years, it was awesome!

Oh! I know to check the reviews, now. I would not have purchased this had I known so many others have had the same issue I had.
The bit is held by a very week magnet, if there is one there at all. So, it removed itself from the sleeve with every drill. Then the countersink-bit snapped after just 32 holes. I switched to the other countersink and I had to keep tightening the set screw after each drill. Absolute junk!
I was about to buy that fancy Ryobi Drill, but I'm glad I can change my mind on that.
