Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product This is a very well made motion detecting security alarm. It has the ability of arming and disarming the unit from the keypad on the motion detector, this allows the alarm to be used even if the included remote ever got lost. Considering the fact that tools and other belongings often cost quite a bit, the small $39 price of a quality security alarm, is not much at all to pay. When I seen this item online, I thought that it would be necessary to buy a separate battery, but this Tek4 motion detecting kit comes with a lithium ion battery & a charger included. I believe that all of the Tek4 products from Ryobi that end in the word kit, also have a lithium ion battery & charger included. I also have other Tek4 items, and I am very happy with the low price and high quality of Tek4 Ryobi products that I own. November 7, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved my stuff! I've had trouble with the neighborhood kids getting into my yard and stealing stuff. I saw the Ryobi motion alarm and figured I'd give it a try. Mounted it up high on the wall on the outside of my shed and used the remote to arm it. That very night I woke up at 2:00AM to the sound of the alarm!! Looked out the window and saw 3 kids high tailing it out of the yard. That was three weeks ago and they haven't been back yet. March 14, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi Motion Sensor and power supply unit I am very satisfied with the Motion sensor. I use it inside my enclosed trailer for protection of my tools. The audible alarm is loud enough that I can hear from my driveway all the way to inside my living room. It is very easy to use and program to my own personal code. I would highly recommend to others to give it a try. The ryobi power unit did not work on my LG phone, but it did work on my wife's phone. Very easy to use and operate. Highly recommended. Ryobi is the ultimate to me in power tools and protection. To me' there is not any other product that I would trust as much as I do Ryobi. Keep up the great work. January 22, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NOT FOR EARLY WARNING DETECTION! Pros: easy to use, easy set up, cost. Cons: cannot customize options, chime not loud enough, alarm gives 8 seconds pre-warning light flash, must have 2 seconds continuous motion to set off alarm. I bought this today as a temporary early warning system while my husband is out of town. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Once you arm the alarm you have 30 seconds (green LED lit) to select the chime mode or alarm mode and leave the area (very reasonable amount of time). The device resorts to the last used setting. You toggle the chime/alarm button to change the alert (listen for the alert you want). Once the alarm is ready after the 30 seconds the LED goes out. If the chime is set, it alerts as soon as there is motion detection. It will chime every so often until the motion ceases. The downside is that the chime is at 80dB, about 20dB quieter than the alarm. If the alarm alert is set, you MUST have 2 seconds of CONTINUOUS motion in order to trigger the alarm...the caveat is that once the alarm is triggered it waits an additional 8 secs with the LED light flashing before the audible alarm sounds. There is no way to bypass or shorten the 8 second delay and that would be more than enough time for an intruder to make it to the device and destroy it or to make it across the house. It may be more practical for use at a construction site for deterrence. February 14, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Product This is a very reliable motion detecting alarm. Like advertised, it does provide 12 or more continuous days of coverage, this is if it is left of constantly, if turned on periodically, then it will last longer. The remote works well. The alarm itself is slightly less loud when compared to some other alarms, but this is mainly because the noise mechanism is covered by a mesh metal screen to prevent a thief from puncturing the noise mechanism, which would disable the alarm, so it is very well built. This alarm does not come with a swiveling mount like other motion detecting alarms, but it does come with a different type of mounting bracket. The quality Lithium Ion battery is great, charger is included. I would definitely suggest this alarm for the construction industry as well as for the protection of home belongings. August 3, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Raccoons and possums deterrent Keeps the raccoons and possums away from bird feeders and suet feeders at night with the "chime setting" used in conjunction with a motion activated light. December 4, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well and INSANELY loud if that's what you want.... Tested this model in our newly renovated home but decided not to keep it up. It works great. Crossed it's path about 20 feet away and the ear-crushing siren went off. I am not kidding you when I say this is incredibly loud for a battery operated unit. But it does do what it says.... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap and Portable I use this alarm mounted in my covered pickup bed. Even though the bed is locked up, it is nice to have the alarm when parked overnight at hotels, etc. The alarm is loud enough and lasts about a week or so on a full battery charge. August 25, 2011
