Hi Rapid2t. The adapter cord can be special ordered through the Home Depot. Hope this answers your question!

Customer Reviews

Tek4 4-Volt Portable Power Source RP4900-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from pretty good i like it, i use it. i have an iphone which i use the usb extension to plug in my regular phone charger. it mostly does not charge my phone up to 100%, i think it has once, but usually levels out at about 80%, which is better than 0% of coarse. i do really like the design, and look and the battery. i feel like im saving AA batteries.. very green. good to have always tucked away in the car, but i left the battery inside the device once and it drained itself of juice, i dont know why. but from now on i keep a battery and charger seperated in my glove box.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thoughtless design. Why on earth would you put an outdated micro USB for the output on the device? it should have been a regular full sized USB output so you could plug any device's USB cable into it to charge. Yes, they included an adapter to go from Micro to standard usb, but mine lasted about a week before it got bent from sticking out and stopped working. Also, it would have been nice if it could output 5V at 1A instead of 500ma, since thats pretty much the standard now. Some inteligent redesign, and this could be a 5 star device. Holding Two tek4 cells instead of one might be an idea.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product works well for rechargeable power. This products recharges fast, but the USB plug adapter is built cheaply. I have had to replace piece twice and it's cheaper to buy a new charger. Save your receipt unit does have a two year warrenty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tek4 Products I bought several tek4 flashlights, power supplies and batteries and am very pleased with the product. The power supply charges my motorola RAZR faster than any other charger method (car or wall charger). It takes one tek4 battery charge to equal one fully charged RAZR. In the next design of the product, they should make the plastic on the power cord thicker so that repeated bending does not break it. With the fast charger, it is plenty easy to keep the tek4 batteries fully charged. I tested several LED flashlights at Home Depot and found the tek4 light to be the brightest. I am annoyed however that the light comes on with the smallest rotation of the switch. The next design needs to make the light come on at the half-way point to avoid accidentally turning it on in your pocket. This light runs a LONG time on a single battery, maybe even the 6 hours advertised. You might note that the battery cap needs to be tightened all the way. I wrongly returned and exchanged a flashlight that I thought was broken when it just needs to be completely tight :) I have recommended these products to my friends :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Design drawback I really like this product, however it has a fatal flaw and unless the manufacturer moves swiftly to solve it, it will not exist in a year because no one will buy it. The green adapter which is clearly the most important, as it accepts a regular USB jack, which many devices utilize. The adapter then goes to a flimsy metal part that plugs into the battery itself. This adapter is easily fatigued and broken and unless one purchases the entire set AGAIN they cannot get a replacement part.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Portable Power Review So if you are going to buy this only (and not the other tek 4 equipment) it will run you $48 dollars since you will have to purchase a battery ($12.97) and a charger ($11.97) and then pay tax. So don't get fooled by the $19.97 price tag. Now onto my initial impressions. Simply put it works. It should fully charge (or almost fully charge) a dead iphone/ipod touch. I found the adapter for the charger (mini usb to usb which you then connect your ipod/iphone cable to it) to be a bit loose. It would have been nice if they was some locking mechanism so it doesn't get unplugged in your pocket or purse. But they do a VERY good job of including other connectors, such as motorolla, lg, and nokia chargers. I did a quick test where I charged my half charged Nokia 6301 and my 33% Ipod Touch (1st gen). It took about an hour to fully charge my cell phone and then roughly 30 minutes into charging my ipod touch it died. It did manage to charge the ipod to roughly 75%. I'm in the process of testing how long it takes to charge a completely dead ipod. I find the 80 hours of audio time to be dubious. I don't really know what the means and it sounds like the device can do more than it really can. Overall if you find that your cell phone/ipod dies on you when least convenient having this in your pocket will alleviate the situation and you can reuse it which is the best part. The misleading price tag, and lack of locking mechanism gives this product 3 stars but it works well. I haven't used this product enough to test for the batteries and their life/ quality, but I will be and I will report back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't really actually charge things. I'm always after new gadgets, particularly ones I already have batteries to operate. I have experience with the old B&D VPX inverter, a AA powered boost converter I built in a mint tin and this device. The VPX works fantastically, full charge on my iPhone 4. My minty-boost works fantastically, 80% from 3 AAs. This Tek4 charger... just sorta holds the battery at whatever charge it is already at. If you leave the phone in standby with the screen off and no music playing, you can get most of a charge out of this. If you use the phone at all while charging, you might as well have not even bothered. Additionally, the USB-mini-b port is not only deprecated due to the release of the USB-micro port, but it's a client side connection and inappropriate to have on a source. A standard USB full sized A connection should have been used so any phone sold in the past 10 years could have been connected with no adapters. Quality of construction is great, like the rest of the Tek4 line, however the product itself doesn't actually work. Do not buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from portable power I have had this for about 6 months, it rapid charges my cell phone, I had never seem my cell phone say "charge complete" until i charged it with the portable power source. Its small and convenient, i haven't found a similar product that even comes close to quality and diversity. I have charged so many things in so little time, it can charge practically anything with its usb charging port. Perfect for someone on the go and or traveling.
