It worked for just under a year and then it wouldn't turn on again, on a fully charged battery. When it worked it was great, but I work outside in the rain, so, the "water resistant" isn't good enough.

I bought this MP3 player for my boyfriend as a gift. He has been through many since i've known him and this one suits him to a "T??" It's rough and rugged just like him. He loves this MP3 player and that makes me happy because i know he is.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by THROBA Ease of use and handy
Battery life in this thing is awesome. I have played this player on the same battery for way over a 100 hours and it is still going. It also was very easy to load up and is a ease to operate. The other cool thing is at night the green light on it is bright enough to show your way around in the dark, have used that several times after waking up finding all the lights are off and everybody else has went to bed, but my music is still paying. I liked it so much I have now purchased a second one.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tek4user Nice, durable player - even for odd uses
I use this player when I'm doing work or walking or running. The clip hangs tightly onto my belt, The buttons take a bit of getting used to.
My primary use for this device - I may be the only one using it this way - is to play my audio, at night, with the lights out. The green light that comes on when the device is turned on is pretty bright. Learning the button position in relation to the headphone jack - in the dark - takes a bit of practice.
The 2 gigabytes of storage are enough for a LOT of music or other files. (I sometimes listen to old radio shows -- I can probably get a few hundred HOURS of shows on this device).
It would have been nice if there was a display of some sort to show you what you're listening to - with a lot of music on the device, it can be tricky finding a particular track.
There are two play modes - a shuffle mode (which randomly picks a track to play), or a mode that plays one after the other. It would be helpful to have some idea what's currently playing, or to be able to scroll through a menu and decide which track you want to hear next.
I have a problem with the Ryobi site. The site just doesn't work well -- if you want a user manual, forget it - you won't find one. Although the site LOOKS good, when you try to use it or find any information, it's not very helpful.
I've used this device for a few weeks, and have no idea WHEN I'll have to recharge the battery. Also, the Tek4 system is cleverly conceived - the same battery will power any of the Tek4 devices. I'm looking forward to using it with some of my other Tek4 products.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigDogone Set it and forget it
I've had this player for a couple weeks now. I am very pleased by it's performance so far. I have dropped it a couple times in the gym with no adverse effects. I have not experienced any problems listed by others here.
I love the "serious business" look of the unit. It's large and in charge as they say. It's perfect for me because I
don't want to be fiddling around with controls. I don't need some fancy display. I make sure my playlist is a good one so I can set it and forget it and concentrate on my work out.
It's still on it's initial charge since I received it two weeks ago and it's still going strong after a couple trips to the gym.. Your fancy, dainty player it aint. Love it. This is my 4th player this year.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kevin A sanity saver.
I have a 1 hour commute to work each way and use this in my car to play audio books. I only have to charge the battery about once every 4 months and it will hold 2 - 3 books at one time.
The only flaw is that some book files are over an hour long. When I turn it off when I arrive at work, and then turn it back on in the afternoon, I have to hold the fast forward button for about 10 minutes until I find the place in the story where I left off that morning.
The ability to remember where it left off would make it a perfect item for this use.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junky Skips like a 70's record player
Sounds like an old record player skipping along. I didn't even know MP3 players could skip. Sounds quality is not as good as my cheaper MP3 player. Headphones are a joke. I changed headphones and that did not fix it. No firmware updates (even though the manual talks about them). I'd choose something else if I were to get one again. I plan on returning when I have time
