Answer:
Yes, as long as it is not within the firebox. You will need a refractory mortar for inside the firebox.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product This is the easiest mortar I've ever used, easy as in mixing, getting mixing ratio, handling time after mixing, applying onto work, controlling where you want it and how easy it stays put on a vertical application. Since I'm using it as base coat for stucco application, it is applied vertically. Once you have it on the wall, it will vertically stick to the wall giving you a lot of control guiding where you want it spread. The only thing I can think as negative is it's 80lbs weight, wished it had handles on both ends of the packaging just like the plastic water softener salt bags have so you at least have control while lifting. Yes highly recommended to every DIY'er. September 26, 2016
