As most reviews say, "You get what you pay for". This is true! Home Depot was selling this desk at the lowest cost with free shipping so that was great. The desk itself does take several hours to put together and as long as you follow the steps closely, it will go together just fine - the drawers close completely and all. Please note that the back of the desk is not covered as the rest of the desk, so if any of the back is exposed, you will have to paint it.
I bought this desk as I work remotely from home 1-2 days a week and needed a desk for work stuff. Due to the sturdiness of this desk, I think this will last me 2-3 years and then I will be shopping for another desk. Next time I'm going to bite the bullet and spend more $$.

While this desks looks nice, it took a very long time to assemble. Some of the "pre drilled" holes where NOT. My biggest problem with this desk is the smell. the minute you walk in the room it has a VERY strong chemical smell. I went on the net and found out it was called "off gassing". I tried all the recommended fixes and none of them seem to work. One fix was to seal ALL the unfinished parts(which I did), sure wish I knew this before it was assembled because now that it is assembled I can't seal those parts without disassembling. I call customer service rep and she obviously knew of this issue as she rattled off all the recommended fixes (airing it, placing fabric softner sheets inside desk and sealing it). She said the smell should be gone anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months! I told her that both my husband and I are getting lots of bad headaches along with other allergy type symptoms. Her next response was well some people are allergic and some are not so if the desk continues to bother us we could donate to a charity (oh, right, pawn it off on some unknowing soul) send them the receipt and they will give us a check for what we paid. Not that I would do such a thing but ask her to please send me an email confirming this but she would not. They may send me the purchase price but what about the hours and hours spend not only assembling but trying to get rid of the offensive and possibly harmful smell. I just went through rounds of chemo and the last thing I want is to be breathing in this "Gas". I have had it for 3 months and it still smells.

The desk is nice looking BUT scratches very very very easily. We have painted it with a sealer to try and preserve it. Again it was only $180 so you get what you pay for.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jess The product was either handled poorly or made poorly.
Looks great in photos and even at a distance, get a little closer than 15 feet away and you see all the manufacturing or handling imperfections. i.e. split corners, broken hardware holes, scuffs on the black. I was very disappointed after I assembled the project, no wonder why they don't carry it at my local home depot store.

There were several damaged spots on the desk when I received. I had to take it to a store to return. Cheap material.
