Hello, thank you for your question regarding our QT Coarse Poly Ceiling Spray Texture. Because of the possibility of the drywall on a ceiling sagging because of too much weight being applied to it, we would recommend removing the existing popcorn texture before applying the new spray texture to the ceiling. You can remove the existing texture by misting it with water and using a taping knife to scrape it off. If the ceiling you're working on is a concrete ceiling, just make sure that the area you are applying the spray texture is free from dust or anything else that might affect the spray texture from properly bonding to the ceiling.
