Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Standard joint tape, no bells or whistles here I purchased this tape as a DIY homeowner for my first settling crack patching project. I followed some instructions from the web and the tape pretty much did what I expected it to do. The tape was a little thicker than I expected it to be so I had to use more joint compound but overall it worked out. If there was a similar product that was self adhesive and thinner that wasn't a mesh tape, I'd love to try it but since I have 500' of this, I'll stick with this for the time being. March 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will eventually fail- Use the fiberglass tape. This tape will work fine 97% of the time at best. Sounds good, but it's that 3% that gets you. A couple of years after the job is done, the tape will pop out somewhere. Then it's ladder time, patch, wait, patch, wait, patch, wait, paint, wait, and paint again. Spend the extra money on the glass tape and you'll be glad you did. May 30, 2014
