I have 4" holes in a plaster wall from rewiring. The plugs were saved and put back in place. Do I need to tape around the hole crack or will your product fill the crack? Same situation with sheet rock walls?

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. It is not customary to repair holes with plugs of old material. A hole that is 4" in diameter would normally be repaired with new drywall. Paper tape and setting type joint compound such as Durabond or Easy Sand would be used to finish the repair. Thanks for choosing USG.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Makes it so you are much less likely to get cracks I have used this product many times and it is fantastic for filling large holes or doing the initial coat on your dry wall joints. Warning, it sands like steel so don't over build it! Great product and really makes the process speed along very nicely. February 20, 2016
