Answer:
No dice. This is still joint compound. It has no finish component. Add a little water to it after you get it on your walls and it will melt as fast as the Wicked Witch of the West.

Can this be used for light stomp texturing on a ceiling ? Assume it would be applied with a heavy nap roller and then textured with a stomp brush. Would you need to add water to the mix ?

Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend using Sheetrock All Purpose Joint compound, rather than the Plus 3 Lightweight All Purpose joint compound, if you intend to thin it with water and apply it using a roller. Thanks for choosing USG.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. Ready mix joint compound such as Sheetrock Brand Lightweight All Purpose Plus 3 should be used with paper tape. We do not recommend using it with mesh tape. Thanks for choosing USG.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price Great price and looks onceiljng texturing.. will try in other rooms. September 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MOLD Mold!!!!! I've been doing my own sheetrocking since I was 12 and I've never had MOLD before. I've probably used a dozen 5-gallon containers of Sheetrock brand lightweight compound on our house. My first time using USG - AND first time with MOLD covering the inside of the container a few months after I opened it. This was in a very dry attic. I'll NEVER buy USG again. June 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best of the market! I switched to this product to rehab a basement, it went on smooth and was easy to work with. Hands down the best mud! January 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this stuff! I have used a few other types of mud in the past. This product is smooth and glides on with few bubbles. I like to work mine a bit with the knife when I put it in the pan to make it nice and creamy before spreading it on the wall. There is not a lot of dust when you sand either. Most of the sanded material drops straight to the ground and stirs up very little powder. Thinner coats dry very quickly being ready to sand in just a few hours. Thicker coats are less prone to cracking unless you apply heat to dry them. Then, of course they will crack. I would recommend this product to new users as well as experienced applicants. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drywall Newbie This is my first time doing drywall and I started with another product and had the hardest time working with it. I switched to Plus 3 and now I don't mind it at all. it goes on much smoother and with less air bubbles as it dries. I only had to use 2 coats instead of 3 because it doesn't shrink as much as the other product. It also doesn't flake off at the edges when you sand it. I would recommend this to all first time drywall finishers. The 4.5 gal bucket also covers more area than the standard stuff in the 5 gal bucket and the bucket is a full 15 lbs lighter which is fantastic for a smaller person to handle. November 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stuff - easy to get a good finish even for a beginner This is my first drywall project. I was advised to use the regular pre mix (green lid) for the first coat, then the lightweight (blue lid) for second and third. It's worked really well and this stuff finishes nice and smooth, even after my pretty rough trowelling I ended up with a finish that looks great. I did try mixing my own once but it was an unbelievable hassle - this stuff is so easy and so cheap I'll never go back to the powder. February 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Plus 3 Great product Great product to work with! Awesome workability and performance. June 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by South Florida painting The best. Easy to use. Use every so often and works well. June 4, 2015
