Do you know the name / brand / item number of the faucet pictured with this sink?

I'm unsure about the one in the photo, but we have found that Pfister Ashfield GT529 YPU works great with this sink.

The antique finish on our sink came off very soon after we started using our sink. I love my sink can it be re-antiqued?

We did not ever use chemicals or leave citrus/tomato based foods in sink. The bottom is now penny and antique mixed. The shiny penny bottom just looks dirty now. We use a rubber mat we clean often.
Asked by: Homeinprovementmom
I do not believe so. Vinegar/acidic things will all make it bright copper. If you use hot peppers, pickles, olives, etc., these will make it bright, too. It will take time for it to darken back up again but it will, in time. Unless you keep putting those same sorts of foods in there, that is! I would suggest you take note of what foods you put in there. The rubber mat could also be causing an issue. I dry my sink after every use. I also eat foods that will make it bright so try to be careful, however, splashes happen and I've had bright spots occur. In time, they do darken up and blend back in. Until I drop a hot pepper/pickle/whatever in! If you want your sink to darken back up as quickly as possible, take out the rubber mat; use extreme caution in regard to above foods(maybe use a dishpan to rinse off dishes? & carefully pour water directly into drain); dry sink after ever use. Only use dish detergent to clean the sink.

Does this sink need to be waxed like I've read on some other websites?

Asked by: Casey
No it doesn't require waxing. I've never waxed mine & it's fine. If you want to create a barrier to help it repel acidic foods you could oil/wax it but then you'd negate the anti-microbial properties of the copper.

Customer Reviews

Adams Farmhouse Apron Front Handmade Pure Solid Copper 33 in. Single Bowl Kitchen Sink in Antique Copper is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 106.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sink for the Money... Daily Maintenance Requirement This is a great sink for the money. I did call the manufacturer about maintenance and care for the sink. I asked Sinkology Tech Line about using lacquer to maintain the patina of the sink. I cannot use lacquer coating for this sink. There is a marine wax coating that has been applied to the interior sink basin. Using lacquer would not adhere unless the wax coating is removed. I will allow the sink to age with a natural patina on all the sides of the sink. I have been using bar keepers friend in a liquid on the bottom basin of the sink. I feel comfortable using this product as I have used it with my other 100% copper pots and pans for years. This will change the patina development but I will not have water marks or dish rings on the base of the sink. That would drive me crazy! Daily maintenance of cleaning the copper sink is required. If you don't required want daily cleaning, buy a porcelain sink. Hope this is helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I remodeled my kitchen around this sink! My house has a rustic design so I knew I wanted to use a copper farmhouse sink in the kitchen remodel. Read, researched and looked at many and found this excellent sink at Home Depot. As others have stated, a little unsure about the quality because of the low price, but it has far exceeded my expectations. It is the centerpiece of the kitchen and is everyone's favorite part of our remodel. If you fully understand that this sink's patina will continue to change, just as a copper penny does, then you will not be disappointed. It is stunning!! I do think that the recommended sink drain is a bit on the bright side for this sink, but I kept it anyway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from looks beautiful- more maintenance than i planned I love the sink, love the look, everyone (including all the contractors) LOVE the sink- unanticipated focal point and couldn't get more compliments on it. But, ANYTHING left in the sink will result in shiny spots, I hear that they fade, and I would feel better if there were more to make them look more deliberate instead of me messing up (spinach blended in too well!). I have heard that comet or soft scrub followed by vinegar or baby oil will work to restore finish- but am apprehensive to try it. also, do not miss the 2 sink sides at all- love the big open sink basin. even with the extra upkeep- I would not do anything differently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from will buy this sink again if we move! Sink definitely threw our contractor for a look when cutting countertop and building cabinet, but just like the rest of his work, it turned out perfectly! Love the look of this sink. CONS: cant leave anything metal on it overnight wet. It turns it "copper" colored again, super annoying. But it only takes a time or two to learn that mistake. It ages after about a week to look like the rest. Even with that con its still the perfect focal point in my kitchen and I love it. THINK FIRST if you have stainless appliances, we ended up getting a custom cabinet front dishwasher so it looked good- looked terrible next to our stainless dishwasher And buy the stopper from HD. It matches perfectly. ($30)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes the kitchen I was first a little hesitant to have a copper sink as I was concerned of the upkeep and the looks, now having it in full operation I would not have it any other way. This sink transformed my kitchen from nice to spectacular. Easy to keep clean and great to look at.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ill fit for custom home Despite the basic sizing (length, width, and depth) the sink is ill fitting. The apron left a gap on both sides. This sink was to replace our previous farmhouse sink. This one was a complete flop. We plan on replacing in a year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's ok It's an ok sink that's made of a decent gauge copper however i can see dents happening quite easy if a pot or pan is dropped in the sink. It did not have any shipping damage when it arrived and was very well packaged.
