this saw is amazing. it cuts through 2x4 like they were paper. light weight and durable. no problems since i bought it. cuts are straight and smooth. definitely worth the extra money. this thing has out preformed any previous circular saw i have ever used. plus it feels solid vs Ryobi/ Dewalt.

Cuts with power and ease. A tough durable saw that will last years. I have never used a better circular saw. I have even used one of these to cut through asphalt before a trench job, now that is non bogging power!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RoofFramer Best saw for cutting rafters
This is the perfect saw for any kind of heavy cutting like rafters. This is the second Skilsaw I've bought in the past 20 years, the only reason I had to replace the first one is because it was dropped 14' to the concrete

Have owned several of these saws and they have always performed well. Make sure to keep an eye on the oil level and change it at least annually depending on use. I like the factory Diablo blade that comes with the saw.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by anonymouse Excellent product - much better than Makita and Dewalt
I bought five of these saws about a month ago and I love that it is so much better balanced than the Dewalt worm-drive saws and so fast and powerful compared the Makita hypoid saws. I am a high school wood/metal shop teacher and I need stuff to last because it gets used almost every day for up to 3 hours. After the students have used this saw they also say that these are much better balanced than the Dewalt and much faster than the Makita. I'm thinking that the motor is 3.1 horsepower, so that allows the saw to cut faster while bogging less. 5300 RPM BLADE speed (Skilsaw) vs 4800 RPM BLADE speed (Dewalt) and 4500 RPM BLADE speed (Makita). (THIS IS NOT MOTOR SPEED!! Most corded power tools use universal motors, and that kind of motor runs 10,000+ RPM). All around I would recommend this to anyone looking for a saw built to last!!
My biggest disappointment is that this saw is made in China. I noticed that Bosch make a lot of their products in Germany and Sweden (Bosch owns Skilsaw), but a lot of their saws (including the Skilsaw circular saws) are coming out of China and Taiwan.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve Best Saw ever!!
I have had Skil products before but never the saw so when I needed a new one I decided to try this one particularly with the worm drive.....I was not disappointed...It cuts smoothly, cleanly & with little effort... It is light weight which makes it easy to use. The Diablo blade is exceptional... Highly recommend this saw...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rockmann88 Strongest and most reliable saw made
My Skil wormdrive saw has lasted for over twenty years, doing all types of heavy framing and remodeling and deck building work. The saw is heavy and takes arm strength to use if cutting up or sideways, but most cutting is down on the wood so the extra weight of the saw motor and body help to make a quick, accurate and smooth cut. It's a good choice for professional carpenters and builders, or a homeowner with a major project in mind. Keep the blades sharp so as not to burn out the motor cutting with a warped blade, and keep the oil level full and it will last a very long time.

This saw has power, yet it is easy to maneuver. I have had no problems, and it has handled all projects without any issues.
