Does the SL728 28 IN. LOCK-END EXTENSION SPRING include a safety cable?

Asked by: rm61
It doesn't have or need a safety cable. It has interlocking safety links inside the spring that prevent a broken spring from coming loose or becoming a projectile.

My old broken Holmes garage door spring was designated "SL728C". Is the "C" important because you only offer only the "SL728" without a "C".
Asked by: Springcaput
yes I had all my 5 garage doors installed with SL728C about 15 years ago ,every once a while a spring will break and I would go to a local Homedepot and buy it there, but now they don't keep them in stock at the store so I had to order online.

The paint indicates which side of the spring is the top hook (vs. bottom). The SL728 is the correct part number.
