This heater is electric. It does not consume oil. It is filled with oil as a means to distribute the electric heat through the plates.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 44 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I loved mine so much!! I loved my little oil filled heater. I was so sad when it died after two seasons. It was working fine, the power went out, and when it came back on, the heater was dead. I think it should have lasted longer, myself (hence four stars instead of five), but it was faithful and wonderful. I loved that it was cool enough on the surface so I could drape my socks or shirt over the top and put them on, cozy warm, a few minutes later. The thermostat was great for keeping the temp steady; it had a timer if you felt the need to have it go off at a certain time. The handle let me move it all over without tipping or breaking anything; the wheels moved easily and well. It kept my little pet bunnies cozy warm at night set on 65 while I could still keep my bedroom cold the way I like it. I could stick my toes under the edge and keep my feet warm...as good as having a fireplace in the room! May 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple design and easy to operate Great little unit for my 120 SF office. I wanted one with a thermostat so I could be comfortable without worrying about getting up an turning off or on a heat unit. This has fit the bill perfect. It might be a little over kill for such a small office, but right now on cold chilly mornings I wouldn't change a thing. May 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great buy This little heater is just great. More than what I even expected. Warms a room up fast and easy to move around with little effort. I can heat a room up real fast then lower the controls to keep it very comfortable. The controls are super easy to use. February 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a great heater! I recently purchased this heater online with instore pick-up. It works extremely well and has some of the best features I have seen on this type of heater: Digital thermostat, digital room temp and a timer, as well as tip over protection (which my previous heater did not). It keeps our trailer very comfortable. I would highly recommend this product. January 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average at best This heater works fine if you have it on the highest setting, which is 80 degrees, but at some point, you'll likely want to lower it to 70-75 (or maybe even lower). That's when this heater becomes useless. Despite having options, it really only provides 2 settings -- on or off. When I've set it to 70 degrees, which is typically overnight, it's not even the slightest bit warm to the touch. In fact, it feels like it's been unplugged. The other downside is that it has no handle. We like that it's on wheels so we can move it from room to room, but if it's hot (the highest setting), I have to use a dish towel to push it with. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great purchase I purchased this heater for a bedroom, approximately 25 feet by 15 . I attached the wheels and plugged it in. The heater took very little time to get hot. I am not worried about the timer settings, plug in and leave it on. For a small heater is does a fantastic job and warmed up the room nicely. You can not go wrong with this unit, some other people have moaned about the temperature settings, if you need heat, why would you have something on low any way ? This unit is much better than the ceramic type heaters that I have used in the past. The other plus factor from making a purchase from Home Depot, you never have problems if you decide to return anything. Thanks Home Depot for a great heater. October 11, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Shoddy performance what else do you expect for a $69.95 equipment that offers too much? I've had this for a week to heat the bedroom of my apartment in Palo Alto, California. The nights get to about 50F now and I'd like this to maintain the temp at 65F or so. But whenever I've set it at 65F it seems to shuts off though the temp indicator shows 65F. It gets really cold at night and wakes me up. Initially I increased the temp to 70F, but works just as terribly as 65F. 75F does the trick but it is really too hot. I'm giving it one more try tonight, but will most probably return it tomorrow and buy a cheaper one with temp setting, etc. On the whole, this is overpriced for whatever it does! Don't buy this. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money How this thing is getting 4 and 5 star reviews is beyond me. I have my house thermostat set to 69 degrees and wanted my bedroom a little warmer. Bought this heater and plugged it in. Very very disappointed by the amount of heat it puts out. I basically have to be within 2 feet of it to feel anything. After having run for an hour, my room was just as cold as before. This thing is going back to the store. This thing sucks up electricity and gives absolutely nothing back unless you are within 2 feet of it. Going to try a quartz heater next. Save your money. Look for something else. October 25, 2013
