Revived this as a Christmas gift and was happy with the product until I tried chop a slab of pine and the head became loose on the second swing and the head dented the metal cuff around the handle that supports it

I bought mine last year and have used this for chopping throwing hammering and punching through anything I can. I couldn't have bought a better axe for the money. I went and bought two more just so I could have more in case I broke one but I don't see that happening. It's balanced very well for throwing and hold an edge very well. I love it and use it everyday and it's my go to tool when camping, I even strapped one to my bug out bag. Thanks sog for a great product

I've had mine for one week and the head has already broken off of the handle. Not sure it's a tool I'd want to rely on.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Zucko72 Great all around Tomahawk
Bought this tomahawk about 2 years ago. I desired to have something for zombie killing. Since, the zombie apocalypse didn't happen immediately after I bought this i have used it for other ways, like cutting small branches/trees and throwing it. The balance is great and throws very well, although after throwing it over 100 times, I threw it a bit too hard and too low and it hit a rock and broke right under the metal piece near the top of the handle. I called emailed SOG customer service they gave me the address to send it in, I payed postage and a week and a half later I had a new tomahawk. Life time warranties are great and the customer service was amazing.

A few years back, I bought three of these for my sons, 2 in college and one in the military, with the appearance to be used as a modest camp tool. However, in spite of the fact that their locations demanded they be disarmed ("gun free zones") they had a serious defenseive tool which could be accessibly stored in their autos. Each learned to confidently wield it for any particular need. Fortunately, they never had to face an armed opponent and have moved on to additional defensive means, but the Tactical Tomahawk remains an integral, and readily available part of their auto's survival pack.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great tool!
This id my pack ax for camping and hiking. Light and Strong. I have done every thing from made fire would kindling and clearing branches. one time we even took some turns throwing it at an old tree stump. razor sharp out of box and stayed that way with little work.

I bought this tomahawk over three and a half years ago and since then I swear by SOG tools! I have taken this tomahawk backpacking with me every year into the Sierras. It has been an outstanding tool that has done everything from chop wood, to put in tent spikes and even the occasional throw at a tree! Other then a small chip on the blade (my fault) this thing has lasted through everything and replaced my heavier and way lees cool hatchet! I am going to get my girlfriend one for Christmas because she loves it too!
