Hello,

I'm tearing up the old wood subfloor in our house (we just bought it) and I want to install hardwood. I'm going down to the joists and I'll be putting 23/32 T&G plywood for the subfloor. I wanted to know if these would be a good choice for that type of plywood. Thanks!

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My favorite brand I have used these screws for a number of projects and have never had the heads twist off or strip out, BUT I always use a square-head driver and I pre-drill holes. The square driver fits snugly in the screw and (in my opinion) grips better than any other head type (Phillips, slotted, Torx, etc.). These screws have never let me down. November 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Phillips #2 poor form These screws will not drive even with the include bit. when I cannot but quality construction screws I buy everything else from somewhere else as well. I am a remodeling contractor and I have tried these screws with same result 1/2 dozen times. the star drive version snaps off without pilot. This is soft wood 2x material and birch plywood. Fails consistently with french cleats will not suck to wall. August 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The best brand in screws We have tried a number of heavy duty screws for our woodworking projects, and these are by far the best! Their design makes a significant difference compared to other options on the market. With no pre-drilling, they go in smoothly and easily, with no stripping. I never thought that there could be such a noticeable difference. We will stick with Spax as our brand of choice for all of our projects. I also particularly appreciate that they are made in USA.
