I personally don't care if an item is made in china or the U.S. Usually, if the item is made in China, it's cheaper anyway, so that is better for me. This compressor is manufactured in China and then shipped to customers, so I'm sure that many things could go wrong during the shipment. That being said, everything went perfectly with my order. The compressor is tough, and it isn't as loud as my other compressor that I bought a few years ago. I'm very happy with my purchase and am already looking at buying some Speedway accessories for this fine compressor.

One of the main reasons I bought this is because it said made in America on it. The one I got said made in china. One of the screws that holds the pot metal pump to the tank was stripped out. The plastic cover is cracked. The bottle of oil leaked out inside the box. If you want something to clean and repair before you use it. Buy it. If not don't. I haven't used it yet. I am also not holding my breath. Will let you know how it works.

I bought this air compressor based on the specifications listed on Home Depots web site. I received the air compressor today, 4/8/13, and much to my dismay Home Depots specifications do NOT match the specifications listed on the air compressor itself. Home Depot lists the output at 6 cfm at 40 psi, and 5 at 90. The specs on the air compressor list the output at 3.8 at 90. Now I realize that may seem insignificant, however most of the air tools I will be using require a minimum of 5cfm at 90 psi so this is a big deal to me. The air compressor itself appears to be a good quality piece of equipment, and runs quietly and holds air well. The price and shipping were very reasonable, and I received sit ahead of the estimated arrival time. One other gripe, when I unpacked it the plastic housing was cracked. I was able to repair this and it is a minor matter, just be sure to inspect yours very carefully.
