Customer Questions & Answers

Can i use a 3 gallon air compressor with this product

Will it work
Asked by: ericcarr84
You can, but with the larger of the two guns you may have to spray at a lower pressure and therefore slower than you would with a larger capacity compressor. More important than capacity though is flow-rate/consumption. Make sure your compressor can provide the specified air volume at a pressure above the working pressure the gun operates best at, as listed in the manual & on the California Air Tools site, and you're golden. The larger of the two guns wants 3.9CFM @ 30psi, so anything that delivers that at ~40PSI (a common spec pressure) will do fine. Check out the CAT 4610AC or 5510A (the model I have). With something with less output flow-rate at the desired pressure you'll just have to pause your spraying more often to let the compressor refill the tank.

How to match tips with unmarked needles ?

The needles have slightly different angles on the points now how can I determine what the needle size is so I can use it with the tips that are marked for size ?
Asked by: nickname
The needles should fill the oriface they match pretty closely, so you should be able to match them up on a "smallest/medium/biggest" relative comparison with the matching nozzle and outer spray-directing collar.

tip sizes

Under product overview four tips sizes are given. Under specifications two different tip sizes are given. Why?
Asked by: NickName
Tip sizes are 1.3, 1.7, and 2.0. The needles are unmarked but the nozzles are clearly marked. You can easily see which goes with which. Hope that helps.. buy one :)

Is this product is made in china?

Is there u.s.a or Canadian brand?
Asked by: Nardaneh
Regardless of where it comes from, it is of WAY better construction quality than any of the other spray guns I've seen in person (mostly options seen at the local Harbor Freight...) and as far as I can tell the SprayIT brand is owned by California Air Tools, and they make AWESOME compressors, which is where I found out about these spray guns in the first place. I was looking on their site for compressor specs (having already specified a bunch in a work context, I wanted to pick one for myself) and came across the LVLP guns, and figured it would be of similar quality, and it is.

My main purpose for buying this is to spray alkyd enamel on some cabinets. When thinned properly, this oil-based paint spray very well. Nice finish nearly defect free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sprayit LVLP I purchased this gun a year ago and just got around to using it. Spraying Basecoat/clearcoat and love it. I bought a 33oz aluminum cup for it at our local tool store as all my guns have them. Those are a must have as the plastic cups are junk. Don't expect anything from the cup. The needle nozzle combos makes this spray gun/kit an excellent value considering it has an ok regulator with it. Sprayed as good as any top dollar gun I have ever used. I have been painting cars for over 20 years and this is one of the best guns ever. Highly recommend it for the price. The finish on mine is gorgeous. Great looking setup with the aluminum cup. The reason I'm writing this review is because I'm looking to buy another one for primers or as a backup. As always you need to keep it clean. I like the fact it has numbers on the spray patter knob as well as the spray volume knob. Real handy if you know what you are doing. There is no reason to not know where you are at all times while painting, just keep an eye on it and you're set.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good small project spray gun kit I purchased this gun with the plan to paint a project car. The item worked ok BUT it did have the following issues: The plastic cup and cap tend to drip occasionally. A real pain when it dripped on base coat as I had to redo the whole side again. Screwing the cap on the cup is not as simple as it should be. It tends to cross thread easily causing the paint to spill out. For small home projects it would work just fine, if you are careful. With 20/20 hindsight, I would spend an extra $100 and purchase a better gun if I had to do a car project again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Bad Very surprised with quality of the packaging. Not that good! the overall cleanliness of the tool was not that great either. I overlooked that portion and concentrated on the here it goes. I sprayed two took quite some time to "tune" it in. Maybe my lack of experience with LVLP is the culprit. I was impressed with the spray tips...they were metal and not plastic. The cups do not there is little room to alter your angle....again...I can work through that. all in all...i thought is was ok. There was less cannot work fast with this either. The tip clogged much faster than my other guns. biggie.

As someone with no prior experience with these, I found the operation to be pretty straightforward after watching a youtube video or two, and everything is sufficiently easy to break down to clean. All the parts are well made and carefully finished, with no burrs on edges. I would note that the first time you go to take the nozzle out of the larger of the two guns for cleaning you may need to use a real wrench rather than the included ones, since (at least for mine) it seems they had a gorilla doing the tightening on that at the factory ;-) I've been using this to spray water-based acrylics & latexes so far, and as long as things are thinned properly, they spray quite well and it's WAY faster than rolling or brushing and way cleaner too. I love having the smaller gun because it's a good step between the larger one and an airbrush, for when I'm priming & painting hobby & craft projects. I'm looking forward to getting quite a few years of service out of it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice gun Good gun for the price. It works better than a Binks HVLP siphon gun I have. Spraying mostly solvent lacquer and it produces a nice finish quickly. Use it for cabinets and wood work. All the spray adjustments are easy to use, the wide fan could be a little wider but will work for most smaller jobs. Pattern was fine for larger cabinet doors. The best feature is that the nozzle turns in the retainer ring with out having to loosen the retainer which allows you to change the direction of the spray pattern quickly. Touch up gun is good too. They are well made and easy to take apart to clean, the instructions recommend light oil on the needle to keep it moving freely. I would recommend this because I did not and after my 2nd use is was a little sluggish. My only real complaint is the trigger is a little stiff to pull and you can get fatigue in your hand on a larger job.
