Product Overview

Stay cool or warm and breathe fresher air with this 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heat from SPT. Cooling, dehumidifying and fan features all in one allow you to enjoy a comfortable year-round environment with a single device. Powered by a 10,000/9500 BTU cooling/heating capacity, it thoroughly cools or heats an area up to 300 sq. ft. Two fan speeds, an integrated timer and remote control allow convenient climate regulation. It uses a UL-required LCDI (Leakage-Current Detection and Interruption) plug to operate with utmost safety. It also features self-evaporating technology, which means that during the cooling process, water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is then recycled and used to chill the cooling coils and make it run more efficiently.

10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heat is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a bad product. Purchased this unit to cool/heat an otherwise un-climate-controlled recently finished 500 sq ft attic bedroom space. One little problem with assembly was that the venting tube does not stay in the unit by itself, either that, or I was missing a clip of some sort. Problem was solved with the introduction of some electrical tape to hold everything together. It is a little bit of a noisy beast, but I don't mind - I prefer the white noise. If you don't like noise, this unit will not work for you. I was also concerned about how much water it might be housing as a result of the MN humidity, but I guess it reuses or recycles it because nothing has drained, and nothing has leaked. At this point I cannot review its heating abilities, but will happily give it 8/10 for cooling - especially considering it's cooling more space than it's designed for. Makes the space perfectly sleepable!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from heat takes some time and it is kind of loud I really dont think it is to loud but our 10 yr old says its annoying. The remote is good to have and it doesnt suck down to much power. Make sure you run a line to get rid of the water the plug on the back is to low to get anything under and you will make a mess. If you are hooking it to exhaust out a wall you will need more parts and good luck trying to find something that will fit with the supplied pipe. The window adapter looks cheap but you get what you pay for

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product works well. The unit is more efficient than the discontinued previous model with the same specifications. It looks like there is another place for a filter at the lower portion of the unit, but it only comes with a single filter. it is much smaller than the older model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and useful a/c It works well and pumps out a lot of cool air but the entire room doesn't get as cool as I wish it did. I think the reason is that the a/c only has one hose instead of two. Besides that it works great and has a bunch of features such as heat and a timer which i find very useful!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I was hoping for! This cooler does not cool any part of my home when the temps are over 80 degrees! I live where it gets to 110 at times, usually around 100 degrees, and it just blows the hot air around. All windows covered, drapes closed, etc.. Nice design, as it's smaller than most, and has a handle to move it on the back two wheels, which is really nice. Easily moves around the room, too. BUT so much heat comes off the hose that is venting, that it heats any cool air coming from the unit. VERY flimsy filters, but nice that you can wash them. It says it's 10,000 BTU, but I borrowed one from a friend at 8,000 BTU's, and it seemed to cool better....not sure why! I will be happy with the heat that comes in our cold winters. Maybe it's our extreme conditions, but this will not even cool one small 8'x10' room. It's also a tad noisy....you have to have it aimed right at you to get any cool air, and it's blasting noise at the same time! Sorry, but it's not worth the money paid for it, in my opinion!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works hard and efficiently. The room I put this conditioner in ended up being a bit bigger than the recommended size. Even with that, it did a fantastic of job of dehumidifying and cooling the room. I wasn't sure it could handle it and if I'd need to get a different one, but this did the job quite well. It ran 10 or 12 hours a day and still didn't run up my utility bill as much as I thought it would.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really Loud! Easy to install but it is so loud that it is really a problem to use it in an office or bedroom.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very noisy & limited settings. I would give this AC unit a much higher grade if it were NOT so noisy. I am disappointed in only 2 fan speed settings and it doesn't have an option for setting times for it to come on/off in a 24 hr period. I would like to set it to come on for 2-4 hrs/day while I'm away, but I see no way to do so.
