I thought I wanted it because it was the only one I could find with dual hoses. I didn't really need this many BTUs. Too heavy and big for me to unload from car and carry upstairs. Box it was delivered in was beaten up. A piece inside was cracked. They replaced the cracked part right away. But was hard to install in the window, especially with the 2 hoses. Really big and bulky in the room. Hooked it up & it had a noticeable rattle inside. Wouldn't cool below 81'. After trying to make it work for about 10 hours, finally called the manufacturer who said it must be damaged. They told me to return it to Home Depot which I did & got my money back. I went to a different store & bought a different brand, not so bulky and works great so far. Guess it just wasn't for me.

Needed AC unit for metal building that serves as a woodshop. Did not want to cut hole for thru the wall unit and the windows are too small for window units.
So far the unit has performed to expectations in the early Louisiana summer. The dry option has helped manage the humidity in the shop.
Assembly and operation was easy, although sometimes the users manual is a little confusing.

Home Depot delivered as promised and we were in the middle of a heatwave. Thanks Home Depot! You really helped cool things off.

So far this unit has been great. I did spend some time researching portable air conditioners, especially after I had purchased an LG 10,000 BTU unit without doing any prior… Needless to say, I returned that unit and bought this!
I returned the LG unit because it was a single hose system… this unit, is a dual host system, which means it does not have a negative drawl on the room at any time to circulate the air because it is not outputting any air that it has just cooled, it draws air in from the outside to cool the compressor and sends that air immediately out without affecting the room air at all.
This unit cools well, makes a decent size room frigid cold and is surprisingly short amount of time. I will say, that this unit is whisper quiet in comparison to the LG… I don't know how their decibel ratings are similar, but it is night and day! It is sort of bulky, but for the benefits, it's well worth the trade-off… I have never had the unit tell me that it was full of water, but I've emptied it twice in the near three months of ownership.
The fan is powerful, and the feature where it has the louver elevate up and down to mimic an up-and-down oscillation is quite nifty!
The one drawback to this unit, other than the size, is the fact that the remote control and the unit do not seem to talk to each other very well, in that the remote will send commands to the unit just fine, but when making manual selections on the unit, the remote does not pick those commands up and acts almost as though it was absolutely nothing! So, the remote has its benefits and it's drawbacks, the last drawback being that when cycling through the molds if you want to go from cooling to fan, and then back to cooling, the remote does not store the previously selected temperature, therefore, it needs to be selected again… A minor detail, but one worth noting :-)
