Customer Questions & Answers

is this a tankless unit or do you have to empty condinsate

Asked by: breezy
I bought mine 2 weeks ago and at first when its still warm in your house you don't have to empty it much..... but when it starts to cool way down, It wont evaporate much and you will be emptying it at least every 4 hours, depending on how cold you like it..... So if you like it really cold, like 69 or 70, you will either have to empty it or hook up a drainage hose.

Must I take apart the unit to clean coils and filters?

How to clean filter screen on side of unit (not back one)?
Asked by: FQRW4
Hello to clean out the coils and filters you ust remove the housing to do this you are going to need a 12” Phillips screwdriver and drain all of the excess water from the unit. To do this you are going to have to lay the unit down on its front side, Locate and remove the 11 screws on the back of the unit. Locate and remove the 2 screws on the edge of the bottom portion. Locate and remove another 2 screws on the edge of the bottom portion of the opposite side. Then, remove the housing, Locate the 2 coil panels of the unit and make sure both coil panels are completely clean of dust, dirt, and debris of any sort. You may use a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush for cleaning.

Customer Reviews

12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier and Remote is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works good once I figured out the water drainage issue. This AC works well in my open living space which is about 300 square ft. I set it up on a plant stand and drain it into a cleaning bucket which I cut a whole in the same size as the included tube so that it drains down. It leaked really bad before I figured out this solution. I imagine most portable devices need a similar solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product works great. The product is working great, we would recommend the purchase of this item to our family and friends. We purchased the product for our family who lives in Texas. The product has been reliable and the family have on a couple occasions turned it off because it worked so well it was too cold for them. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Had it for a couple years now. Still works like a charm. Although, it's a bit noisy. Not so much that you have converse louder within the same room, but definitely noticeable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This product was a higher grade of quality than the others one line. It worked great at first. The hotter it got outside, the hotter it got inside. It has never registered the room as less than 82 degrees, even though I set it to cool at 62 degrees. I sent the first one back and they sent me a replacement - very efficient. Didn't help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from began to fail after 4 weeks bought this unit and the 14K BTU variant. The 12K BTU variant began turning itself off in the middle of the night (not due to water collector full - it did that too). PT said the behavior was abnormal. I simply returned both units. Trying an LG product now. Another annoying feature was the drain was very low so the unit had to be wheeled to somewhere appropriate to drain and during a humid season emptying was nightly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It Died after 3 weeks Worked well for about 30 days and then it just died, never turned on again, no power to the buttons but power to Unit was fine. Does not keep temp where you want it. You say 68 and it will be 68 or even higher. Often times Id come home and the room was 76 degree with the AC unit set on cold at 64 degree, even auto doesn't work like it should. What ever you set it at it will be there but more often about 5 to 7 degree warmer, directions even state this. I have had better, returning "dead on arrival".
