It is a shame that this Ice Maker doesn't make quality ice. It's appearance is nice and seems well built.
Unfortunately it has a couple of issues. The controls for it are located on the back of the unit. It is advertised as either a stand alone or under the counter unit. But either way it has an LED control panel that is located on the back of it. Impossible to access without moving the Ice Make to get to the back of it.
However this could be overlooked if it made good ice; but it doesn't.
It advertises adjustable ice cube sizes but this is not true. It has a grid that makes the same size ice cubes for all settings, the difference of these ice cubes is the thickness of their shell. The issue is that it doesn't really make ice "cubes" but makes ice "sheets" that are on a grid that you have to break apart to get cubes(See picture).
The size of the cube stays the same regardless of the size setting as the "cube" is really six sided with the sixth side being filled dependent on the size setting. So if you make "small" ice cubes the walls of the 5 other sides are really thin, if you make "big" ice cubes the whole cube is filled in and truly six sided.
The cubes that are made are in a 6 X 4 grid that falls out of the ice making area as a single sheet because the back side of the 24 cubes are a flat frozen solid surface that holds the 24 "cubes" together. Even when the ice "cubes" are at the "small" setting it is difficult to separate the sheets of cubes because the back layer is rather thick. At the"large" setting you need a hammer to separate the cubes.
I actually am returning this ice maker and buying a different one that actually makes ice cubes instead of ice sheets.

Remember, it's what they DON'T tell you... My ice maker was professionally installed for $110. I've had it THREE MONTHS. It makes only one size ice cube despite repeated efforts to adjust the cube size on the BACK of the unit. The manual says it makes small, medium, and large cubes only yet the detail summary says NINE cube sizes. Ayway, I called for repair. The lady insisted I try one more time to set it to the largest size and leave it for 24 hours. Ok... But that means IF IT WORKS, I get only one size... Not 3 and certainly not 9. Then she tells me that if I submit it for repair, I have to pay the freight of $30 and they will keep it for two weeks! Had I known all this, I would NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS UNIT. Buyer beware!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill SPT ice make is worth the price. Easy installation, comes with all connections necessary to install.
I added a whole house filter unit with a .5 micron filter and I had my first batch of ice in twenty minutes. The only negative thing was I had to reverse the door, and the SPT emblem was already attached and was upside down. I was able to peel it off and re-stick it back, but I am not sure it will stay on. Maybe the company should send the emblem unattached and let the consumer attach it where they want it, This is just cosmetic and has no effect on the ice maker. This unit is well worth the price. I would recommend this unit to any one needing extra ice. Thank you Home Depot for another valuable purchase.

We bought this for our beverage center. I was unsure as people had said it was loud. Although it is a bit louder than our fridge it only runs when it needs ice. Our unit runs about 2 times a day. I love it. This is my first ice maker and I am very happy with it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Packard8 DO NOT BUY- does not have a drain pump
Makes ice great-one problem, it is totally unuseable. Bought it for our office to replace one that had broken. Hooked it up the same way as the old one, and it leaked everywhere. Come to find out, it is designed to gravity drain into a floor drain-and we are on a concrete slab. That makes it useless unless you buy a separate pump and hook it up that way. It still isn't hooked up.

I replaced an unused wine fridge with this product, so I did have to order a cabinet for the remaining space. Was disappointed in the ice size originally, but read the manual and found out I could adjust the size, so now it is perfect. Not sure if this is a DIY application because we were tying in to the sink lines and had to have a pump installed to assist the excess water in draining.
