Product Overview

This Evaporative Air Cooler with Ionizer is versatile and an economical way to cool your immediate surrounding area. Designed with micro-computer control system, this unit can lower surrounding temperature through the principal of water evaporation. The Cooler easily rolls from room to room with lockable casters. This Air Cooler shoots a stream of air with oscillating louvers, to evenly distribute refreshing cool air. The remote control allows you to easily change settings. The Air Cooler works by endothermic reaction (a reaction that consumes heat), so this evaporative Air Cooler sucks air through a wick saturated with water. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit and is considerably cooler than the current room temperature. This is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy. Note: This unit is NOT an air conditioner and does not have a compressor inside - air coolers will not lower a room's ambient temperature. Air coolers are designed for spot cooling. This unit is best used in dry climates or open spaces. Leave window/door open to limit the rise of humidity and for better air ventilation in the room. Add as much ice as possible and set unit next to you for best effect.

Answer:
I have owned this unit. With ice and cold water it does work better than a fan, does not consume a lot of electricity since it does not have a compressor.

Answer:
It is a water cooler. It swings air back and forth. You can fill your water tray with ice cold water and air is circulated with cold water giving you much cooler air flow.

I have limited use of my right arm and can't quite visualize how the product works. I read a review about putting bottles of frozen water in it. I can do that. If there's a tray to be filled or empty how big is it or how much does it hold?

Answer:
Yes. I have owned this unit. The tray for water is rather small, I would pour ice water directly into the water tray, which is at the very bottom of the unit. Also, tray does not pull out of unit for easy drainage; I had to take mine outside and tip the unit just enough to drain the water out.

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by better than oscillating fans out of the box, plug it in, turn on the unit. I like it has big buttons, I use it during the day and at night with the timer. Put ice in it 30 minutes before going to bed, I feel the temperature decrease in my bedroom. July 23, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not so bad Not a bad product. better than a fan, but unit doesn't cool much better than a fan unless you HEAP it with ICE....sometimes so much that it overflows before it evaporates; no easy/user friendly removal of tray for water accumulation or drainage. I did return product as I was spending over $7 per day just to keep the unit iced down and cold. If you have a good supply of free ice and ice water from a refrigerator, this is unit is ok to cool a small room, no compressor involved, so it will not run up an electric bill. July 28, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sft air cooler I will be returning this item. It doesnt help even when i put ice. I put it in a small room and i cant feel the difference its just having a strong fan. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent The unit works as described and will be easy to maintain. ~ Using this unit compliments my swamp cooler in that it circulates the already cooled air and just add frozen small bottles into the tank does add cooler air. ~ I live in the desert where the climate is hot and dry. ~ For any swamp cooler and or portable evaporator cooler to work properly the climate must be free of humidity. ~ Nice looking product as well. ~ July 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WELL WORTH IT!!! for being the cheapest air cooler available, this thing is amazing! I'm so happy with my purchase, it came 3days before they said it would so i wasn't prepared with frozen bottles or loads of ice, but i just filled it with luke warm water (because its been so hot that the pipes are heating my water) and as many ice cubes as i had (about 24 and a small block) and it feels amazing! just like having the car air conditioning in my living room.. only thing i could say i was a little surprised about was the size.. its kiiiiind of large and unfortunate looking; other than that... I'm in love! oh and its lightweight prior to h2o October 7, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product air cooler is easy to set up and use. it kept the air flowing but wasn't as cool as exptect. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the color looks great I would recommend this product. It has a very nice color, nice finish. Easy to clean. Love the remote and the many functions it has. I do wish it blew a little harder, not enough wind for me. Over all I do like it. July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Portable evaporative cooler I love it works really well. This product obviously only works in dry climate and when over 100 degrees struggles but if add I veto the tray it really helps. July 21, 2015
