Customer Reviews

30-Pint Dehumidifier is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, excellent but I've only owned it a couple wks! Like a lot of consumers' comments, I based my buying decision on the good-great reviews. Some people said it was noisy but not bad. I have it primarily in my bedroom and pretty much run it through evening. It's quieter on Normal than Turbo. A few others said the tray was a bit so-so when emptying. You can't yank it out, but if you go easy, you won't spill any water. (I use the water to hydrate my plants so it doubles as handy watering can). I'm really pleased so far. I have about 900 square feet to de-mold and this is doing the job just fine. No more musty smells and mold in my closets. BTW, Home Depot sent this before the 7 days so that was a good experience, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Excellent Buy I had an LG dehumidifier that quit collecting water after just two years of use. LG makes other brands also, so watch what you buy in the store. I ordered the SPT dehumidifier online; and it is working very well and is much more quiet than other dehumidifiers. It is also very energy efficient because my electric bill has not varied much in the 3 months that I have been using this product. With taxes and free delivery, this product was still under $200. And the basement feels so much more habitable. An excellent buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dehumidifier I ordered two of these for a couple of my apartments, and am glad I did. When I received them I set one up in my office to try it. It's a very quiet unit; even though this was only a few feet away from my desk I was able to work on my accounting while it was operating! With it being an energy star product I am certain it will run efficiently enough that my tenants will continue to use them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from design for continuous drainage is DREADFUL 1-dehumidifier works well to remove moisture from air 2-moderately noisy 3-extremely stupid design of connector for continuous drainage. The outlet nozzle has a notch along its bottom surface such that no matter how snug you can put the connector hose on, it will leak and fill the bucket which you then will have to empty daily. Others have complained continuous drainage is virtually impossible to attain. 4-position of continuous drain nozzle is very awkward to reach to attach drainage hose. 5-I managed to achieve continuous drainage only by tipping the unit backwards so that the water will drip down by gravity along the drainage tube into the sink below instead of leaking out the notch into the drainage bucket which then has to be emptied daily. 6-shape of nozzle is terrible and should be tapered so that you can feed drainage tube on to it. Nozzle instead is exactly the same diameter as the drainage tube and it is nearly impossible to fit tubing onto nozzle. It took me an hour of wrestling with it with a few choice 4 letter words. 7-the garden hose connector is white and is camouflaged in the white styrofoam packing. (SPT, make it a different color.) It is not mentioned in the instruction manual. I only learned about it reading someone else's critique on line. Don't throw away the box without looking for it, if you will use a garden hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 30-Pint Dehumidifier Since I got my dehumidifier it has bin working great!I hooked the hose up so it would drain automatically and set the temp to where I wanted it and has not varied off it's mark.I had a old Kenmore Dehumidifier for 30 some odd years and ran great but it was noise and was not energy efficient. This one runs very quite, and I will say I did my research on these dehumidifiers and found this to be the right choice. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! I live in an English basement and have been using the dehumidifier for 8+ hours a day a couple of weeks now. It's been collecting water well and the bucket can hold at least a full 24 hours of non-stop use. The air that comes out is a little warm, but it doesn't make the room too much hotter. If it ever breaks I'll buy the same product again...as long as it doesn't break too soon. Lol

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the extra money I had previously purchased the Perfect Home 4-Pint Dehumidifier, but not only was the small one not doing its job, I needed a more powerful solution. I was hesitant to spend so much money on a dehumidifier, but I have no regrets. We've had this one for over 2 months and it has consistently collected 30 pints almost every day. I like that it has a humidity gauge and has dropped our humidity from over 70 to around 50. I have a separate humidity ready and the readings are very close. I love that this dehumidifier is on wheels making it easy to move around when needed. I find the tank easy to empty. It is a bit louder than I prefer, but it makes for a great white noise maker near the baby's room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really reduces humidity well I like the looks of the dehumidifier and the digital buttons. I unpacked it and immediately started pulling moisture from the air. I would have rated it a five except for the bucket that collects the water. First it has a lip on it and if you try to sit it on the floor when it is full, it will tip over and spill all over the floor. Even trying to be careful and aware of this I had some mopping up to do. The second item could be either a plus or con depending on your strength. The collection bucket is only 11 pints and I have had to empty it twice a day. The dehumidifier is somewhat noisy by no louder than a floor box fan.
