Product Overview

This Evaporative Air Cooler, Humidifier, and Fan is versatile, lightweight and economical. The Cooler easily rolls from room to room for use anywhere in your house or office. This Air Cooler shoots a stream of air with oscillating louvers, to evenly distribute refreshing cool air. Can also be used as a fan or humidifier if temperature is not an issue. The remote control allows you to easily change settings. The Air Cooler works by endothermic reaction (a reaction that consumes heat), so this evaporative Air Cooler sucks air through a wick saturated with water. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit and is considerably cooler than the current room temperature. This is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy. Note: This unit is not an air conditioner and does not have a compressor inside - air coolers will not lower a room's ambient temperature. Air coolers are designed for spot cooling. This unit is best used in dry climates or open spaces. Leave window/door open to limit the rise of humidity and for better air ventilation in the room. Add as much ice as possible and set unit next to you for best effect.

is the air it thaws cold?

Asked by: yaya
Hello, This unit does not work like an air conditioner. It adds moisture to the air. It works best in dry environments. It will not actually bring down the room temperature. It is a spot cooler.

I purchased it because it said it had a larger cooling area then my previous small KUL AIRE machine. The SPT does not do quite as well in my 400 square area as the KUL AIRE. The SPT is quieter and nicer looking than the other one and is fairly easy to clean. There is no margin of error on filling it. If you overfill it you will have water on the floor. The only other thing that would make it leak is if the water dispersal tray above the filter is clogged. You can clean the holes with a pipe cleaner. I've had it for six weeks. I like that it's quiet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little air cooler This air cooler works pretty ok for a small unit. I live in a dry desert area where temperatures run 98 to 108 degrees in the summer. I purchased this unit for my bedroom where my central air conditioner doesn't cool my bedroom very well. This really helps cool my room down. I like having the option to add ice in the top and inside which gives it that extra cooling down temperature. I was skeptic after purchasing it so my trial test of this unit votes that I keep it. I would recommend this unit if you are using it for a bedroom or a small room, it would not do so well if you are trying to cool down a large area. Hope this helps those that are considering this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! We've been using this for about 2 weeks now and had temperatures in the high 90's. We use it in our living room and it cools really well. We followed the directions exactly and put the 3quarts of water and ice and then ice packs in the top. My husband runs very hot and is a mail carrier, so when he comes home, he is burning up. This does the trick. Most nights by 6 we are ready to turn it off because we get chilled. If it's humid, make sure to open the windows so it can work properly. We really love this little machine. We have no A/C and our swamp cooler doesn't cool the bottom half of the house (nor is it currently working.) This is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is great! There is nothing to put together. I just pulled it out of the box and read the instructions. You need to fill to the max line (on the front, bottom right of the machine is a little window with the max fill line) the very first time you use it. I purchased blue ice packs and put those in the top compartment and kept a pitcher of water in my refrigerator. I'd pour the water in the side slot and put about 4 cups of ice in it. The fan can blow from side to side, if you choose that. And the front vent can be aimed high or low. It is easy to move from each room and works perfectly for me. Colorado Springs had a major fire the following week and the cooler helped save me... the temps were in the high 90s and my puppy and I were kept cool through it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This machine is worth the buy This cooler was worth the buy and worth the price. I picked up 4 blue ice pack blocks for the cooler department on the top of the item and I poor'ed the water in the reservoir. When you get it you have to have the water level on max. The moment I put the packs in the cooler department and poor'ed the water in the reservoir. Once that machine was powered on it felled like AN AC those blue ice packs did the trick. I didn't even dump ice in the reservoir with the water. Just the packs and water worked. It cooled my place down by 12 degrees just like that book said. Kind of reminds me of a 5000 BTU AC but not as cool but I live in a 1 bedroom Apartment. That machine will cool 1 bedroom apartment living room quick takes about 30 minutes. Worth the 3 days shipping time and worth the money. I'll shop at home depot more. I would recommend this product to any person that lives in a 1 bedroom unit. It's cheap and affordable for the right price. If you look for those Ice blocks you can find them at Walmart, target and such they will be where the ice chest would be. good luck

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing, worth the price, and works great! This product works great!!! It sends a nice cool breeze throughout the room when you add ice, and it keeps the room from being dry for sure! Also I love that you can just use it as a fan! The one thing that suprised me is that when you use it to humidify it sounds like theres a waterfall trickling down! At first I laughed cuz I really wasnt excpecting that but it really came to be very relaxin to fall asleep to! Very easy to take care of, never need replacement filters that cost $$, so it was worth th $100 in that respect! However, youare supposed to drain the water after about 2 weeks or so, so I wish the spout to do this was in an easier place; its on the bottom. Also if it is on for more than 1hr the machine has perspiration on the outside, so I keep a small towel underneathe. However in all reality both are minor setbacks in comparison to its advantges.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from better than I thought I saw some mixed reviews in many places but it's actually better than I thought. it's definitely better than a regular fan I bought for more money at bed bath and so on. It's obviously not going to be equal to an AC but if you need to get something I would get this over a fan. It's a bit of a work with the water and all but like I said it's better than a fan.
