Answer:
Depends... this unit is designed to use indoor.
As long as the area is within working temperature range and you can keep the unit dry, it should be ok

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Need an enhancement for the bucket It is pretty quiet while operating compare to the one I previously used. However, it needs a design change of the bucket. When the bucket is filled, it is quite difficult to remove the bucket without spill the water. And it is too full to even carry the bucket. I am happy this dehumidifier works quietly, but I have to check the bucket to see how much water has been gathered before it gets completely full. It is a pain. August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 70-Pint Dehumidifier with Energy Star This humidifier works great! The setup was very easy. I just hooked a drain hose to it and it is worry free. It takes a little practice to learn the settings. I'm impressed how quiet it is. It sits in a very humid and sometimes damp basement and has dried the air very well. I have not had it long enough to have to clean so no comment yet on this feature. August 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, less noisy than some others Controls humidity well, though my outboard humidity gage indicates that I need to set it at 45% to have whole room at 50%.. Less noisy than some prior models, but none are really quiet. Timer is fairly easy to use--I set it after I turn off the unit for temporary silence The timer turns it back on, so I won't forget. Timer can be set to turn it off, but I think there is no way to time multiple cycles. Intake is on front and it blows air out the side. This may limit circulation if there isn't long clearance beside it--I angled it to blow more out into the room and the fan creates a noticeable breeze all the way to the corner of the room 12 feet away. Has worked well in pretty large partial basement for a few months so far. None of them seem to last more than 5 years, and I have no way to know how long this one will last. October 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Two weeks going strong Happy so far - after having gone through 3 well rated dehumidifiers that did not last two weeks. It is quiet. More like a peaceful fan humming noise than rattling vibrating metalic noise many make. It exhausts hot air like all dehumidifiers but does not seem to raise the temperature as much as others. It is on almost 24/7 and we empty the bucket 3-4 times a day. It is working in a large great room in our deep south home and has made the entire living area free of musty smell and more comfortable. Two things not so happy with- it beeps loudly when the bucket is full. I don't see why that is necessary as it is obvious when the fan turns off. Also, the bucket does not have a cover of any type - have to be a little more careful not to splash water when dumping. But no dripping from machine while the bucket is out! Hope this one lasts!
