I am setting up a darkroom without a window. I do have a register in the floor that gives me a 10x4 inch gap between room i am cooling and the room below. Could I put the vent pipe into this floor register? or would there be water coming out the vent? I don't want to ruin the ceiling below.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed I purchased this product after reading all the great reviews and I was looking forward to using it in my small bedroom. I was so disappointed when it barely cooled my room. The thermometer never went beyond 75 degrees even though I set it as low as 65. I kept the bedroom door closed to monitor how well it cooled one small room but there was no difference from the rest of my apartment. The drainage tube didn't seem to work properly either. I had to lay it completely flat along the floor for it to work which made it difficult to contain the water without spilling all over the floor. It was also much too loud. I'm returning it for a refund. June 27, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Irritatingly noisy This air conditioner cools effectively, however rattles incessantly making it very irritating to listen to. If you want to listen to music or TV while this A/C unit is on, you need the volume up extremely high to hear over the groaning and rattling of this air conditioner. You need to turn it off if you want to have a conversation with anyone. I do not recommend it, just due to the annoying constant rattling & groaning noises. I wish I hadn't recycled the box already, because if I had the box, I would definitely return this rattley noise machine. July 25, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The 9000 BTU portable AC exceeds expectations. We received the unit in quick time. It was extremely well packed and was totally undamaged in the portage process. The instructions were simple, straight forward, and indicated exactly what needed doing. Once installed, turned on the unit and within 5 minutes it was pumping out cool/cold air. The unit is much quieter than expected and makes it ideal for an indoors installation. I highly recommend this unit based on cost and performance. Is a great buy! June 16, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy at all! I purchased this item last summer to cool my living room. It was adequate for my needs and the size of the room. I live in Chicago so I only used it a handful of times. At the end of summer I placed it in storage and did not bring it out again till this June. The couple of times it was used it once again cooled adequately. The one year warranty expired on June 25, 2013. On July 15 the unit ceased to cool. I called the manufacturer and was told the coils needed to be cleaned. They sent me instructions on how to remove the housing and clean the coils. The inside of the unit and the coils had little to no dust on them. While looking around I found several burnt wires. I've taken pictures and sent them to the manufacturer. I'm hoping they step up to the plate and offer to repair it properly. However, the burnt wires really alarmed me and now I have concern about the product and it reliability. July 17, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressed!!! I bought this for my Kitchen, I do a lot of baking and canning and my kitchen heats up! As soon as I received it I unpacked it, put it in the kitchen, turned it on and within 30 min my kitchen was 20 degrees cooler! Amazing! It is easy to roll around and go from window to window in my house! I would definately order this one again! August 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great for the price, and would re-buy if needed dose the job but looks cheap, you cant see the temp while sitting down from a distance, not to loud if you keep it on low. you still have to drain it, but depends on the humidity in you area, it could be every 3 - not all day. simple to use, meaning not to many crazy settings. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Product This machine is huge, cumbersome and runs so loudly you cannot have a conversation in the room where it is running. It needs to be hooked up to an open window anyway - so save yourself the hassle and get a window unit for $200 less. July 29, 2013
