Answer:
Built in, no, not really, "permanently" attached to regular plumbing, yes. Although you could plumb it in AND build a shelf the right size to hold it, but it wouldn't be attached to the cabinet, just sitting within it.

I love the size, but I would like to hid under the counter. That would make it difficult to connect to the faucet. Is it possible to connect directly to plumbing like a regular dishwasher?

You can easily adapt the fill hose fitting on the back to stainless inlet hose tapped off the hot water feed under your sink cabinet (make sure to add a shutoff for this extra line), and the drain hose can dump into a special tail piece right (with an angled, baffled "t") between the sink drain and the P-trap. Of course this means that the dishwasher needs to sit close to the sink, but that's generally where you'd want it when loading dirty, wet dishes anyway. Read Less

We have a small cabin i, but I still wanted a dishwasher - and not sitting on the counter top so hubby pllumbed this in just like a regular dishwasher ( installed in an IKEA cabinet -) and it works fine. Just had to purchase the connector bits and pieces to hook it up works a treat !

Answer:
Most dishes come out dry other than the bottom of cups where the water catches and other places that would hold water in that way. I find that all of the dishes are sanitized but i do make a point to promptly rinse my plates after use and stow in the dishwasher till it is ran.

Answer:
No. The specs list this as 17.25" tall so it would be 'just' too tight to fit.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 139 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great, quiet, dishwasher for those kitchens without space for a fullsize The dishwasher is rather large, so make sure you have enough space between your countertop and the bottom of any cabinets that may be above the space where you want to put it. Check your counter space measurements first to ensure it is large enough to accommodate it. The dimensions are available in the specifications list. While it is rather tall, it didn't take very much more space than a regular drying rack. The internal dishrack can surprisingly fit a lot of items. Although very large plates or pans will not fit, so you'll have to handwash those. The machine is very quiet when running. It comes with an attachment that will fit either male or female ended faucets, and the hose is sufficiently long if you have the machine next to your sink. It will use either liquid or powdered dishwasher soap. I've been using the powdered, but may switch to liquid because I noticed when I spilled a little of the powder outside of the tray, it left some residue on the bottom of the interior of the machine when the cycle was finished. A normal cycle will run approximately 2 hours. Don't open the door to end a cycle prematurely otherwise it has a tendency to not drain. When that happened, I ran the shortest cycle which was approximately 20 minutes, and the water drained. The machine will beep loudly when the cycle is finished. At that point you'll need to open the door to aid in the drying process because it doesn't seem to have a heat vent. It requires only cold water because it has a heating mechanism, just like full size versions. After running several loads, it does a good job of cleaning the dishes. You'll have to pre-rinse the plates though, because otherwise you'll end up cleaning out the filter. All in all, I like the product and would recommend it to others. It has saved me time since I don't have to hand wash my dishes anymore and it accomplishes what they advertise. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A very successful purchase.....I love it!! The dishwasher was easy to connect, the instructions were clear as to cycles and such and troubleshooting....not that I've needed that at this point. I didn't install it on the counter top as it's designed to be. I installed it beneath the counter like a regular dishwasher would be, but first I built a platform for it to sit on. The measurements in the catalog description were vital for this as I only had a bit of space to use. I used a hole saw to drill a hole in the counter top to run the hoses through to the sink and it works beautifully in this installation. It's much quieter running than I expected it to be--you can barely hear it at all. Over all, I'm very pleased with it--it does a great job!!! August 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything we were looking for This was a Christmas gift for my daughter who is in an apartment with no built in dishwasher. This product has been beyond what we expected. It's a perfect size for the countertop, it's quiet, it cleans the dishes, holds many pieces, easy to hook up and use, and it doesn't look like an eyesore in the kitchen. It actually looks like a large microwave. This may seem like a gimmicky appliance, but it is far from that. It is highly functional and serves its purpose well. There have been no leaks or accidents. We have been very, very pleased with this purchase. January 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Purchase. A few hiccups. The dishwasher works fine. Other than the occasional times the Detergent doesn't get dispersed because the detergent door is blocked. Also i had to purchase new dishes for this to be fully effective for my home because it only works for very small dishware. The Corelle dinnerware seems to be made for this dishwasher. That being said i doubt ill ever be able to fit 6 cups in there designated areas but i can live with that. January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase No problems setting up. It seems to be doing a great job of keeping the dishes clean. Make sure that you pay attention to the pamphlet describing how to place the dishes. Larger plates may seem as though they will not fit, but if put in the correct location, they fit fine. Hand tighten and check the connections frequently to avoid leaks around the outlet and inlet of water. So far no problems with these. However, I warned my daughter that this could be a problem of losing up when disengaging it from the faucet. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this machine. Love this machine. Easy to use controls. Multiple setting choices handle any needs. Easy to fill dispensers. Quiet - I even opened the door once and got hit with a short spray water because I didn't think it was running. Double bottom in part of silverware rack so forks can be loaded with tines toward the spray for best cleaning without poking through is an excellent idea. Rack slides in and out easily. Handles heavier weight items easily. Everything I've would want in a small dishwasher. June 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little dish washer for a small home For one or two people this is a great little dish washer. I love the quick connect to the sink. I keep it in a small kitchen table that I use for a prep station. I usually wash three or four plates, bowls, and glasses at a time. I do my pots and pans in a seperate load and you have to get a little creative loading this little thing. I highly recomend it for apartments or duplexes that do not have a dish washer. My dishes are always very clean with this thing. I do not recomed for a large family. 1-2 person family, it works great. October 24, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Counter top dishwasher that does the job! Very nice unit that cleans very well. Standard dish cycle does a great job. Haven't had the opportunity to try out the pots n pans cycle. A redesign on the dish try would be helpful. It's not very practical for the size of today's coffee cups. January 19, 2016
