I do not want it to shut off by itself, I will need it to run over 24 hours straight without shutting off.

Standard size tea kettle; sauce pans; can hold a 12 inch skillet - my products are stainless steel and cast iron fry pan if that helps you with how many pounds it can withstand. It will eventually shut off but I have never left it on to try that feature - when I finish cooking I turn it off to be responsible safety wise. It goes in wattage number which since I have used it for a month appear to me to equate to simmer, low, low-medium, regular medium, medium-high and very high; factory defaulted to 900 wattage which I estimate to be medium heat or 350 on stove thermostat. There are wattage settings at 200 increments so simmer would be the 100 wattage and 1500 the highest wattage I would equate to be 450-500 on a stove thermostat. Hope these answers are helpful.
It does not run for 24 hours straight.....it has a default much like a crock pot so that a maximum time frame of 8-10 hours would then shut the unit down.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Very compact nice design Highly recommended Efficient June 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by quick and easy to use The radiant cooktop is very easy to use and heats quickly. Great that no new pans are needed to buy as with induction cooktops. Boils water nearly instantaneously and cooks meals in pans efficiently. Only drawback is the digital light base where the wattage number appear do not all light up fully so you kind of have to memorize which wattage you are using. October 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great office option I bought this for the office b/c I do not like using microwaves. It's great. It was easy to learn to use the controls. It shuts itself off, which is great b/c I tend to get distracted with work. The larger footprint is good in case of spills. May 8, 2012
