How does this machine clean if it doesn't use chemicals?

How does this machine clean if it doesn't use chemicals?
Asked by: Cliff
High frequency vibrations dislodge the bonds between the solid (for example metal) and the grime (accumulated dirt) and the "stuff" falls off. The higher the frequency, the smaller the wavelength of the wave so it can work down to remove smaller "stuff" on the surface. If I try to stand up in the shore of the ocean when a big wave comes, what happens? I get knocked over and washed away, it's very similar to this but replace the wave with the cleaner (waves) and me with the "stuff" standing on the surface. It's all in how you think of "clean". Clean when you wash your hands means that you've taken the dirt and germs from off of the surface of your hands using soap, a surfactant, whose job is primarily to bond with the dirt and then it can be carried away. Clean in this sense is instead of a chemical agent, like soap, you use a mechanical means to get rid of the dirt. Like when your teeth are scraped at the dentist.

This cleaner worked great for me once I learned to put only a few parts in at a time and then just enough liquid to cover the parts. That's when it works best. If you fill the tank to the top to cover a lot of parts its effectivity is cut way back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SPT Ultrasonic Cleaner I purchased this sonic cleaner for cleaning small quantities of .308 rifle brass. So far, its 46,000 cps has done right well for me. I have found that an aspirin in a small beaker of water removes the carbon the best for me. You just have to remember that this cleaner is small and will only perform well with small quantities of brass at a time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for HO trains Needed to extend drain unit, 3/8 brass connections to a hose fitting, simple and inexspensive Otherwise a very well built and easy to use unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SPT ultrasonic cleaner Nice little unit. Kind of small but great for smaller items. I use it primarily for my airbrush so when you break it down there is plenty of room. The way to go is not to put too many pieces in at one time. The first time I used it I put all the components in at once. I wasn't very impressed with the job it did. When I ran the pieces through again a few at a time they came out really nice. Very easy to use. I recommend this product.
