Hello, my name is Julie with Sterling Customer Service. I am happy to assist you with your shower stall question.
Yes. The base would need to be installed on an adequately supported subfloor. If the subfloor is not level and access to shim is difficult, install with a 1 inch to 2 inch bed of mortar cement.

In our case, I had to cutout my basement slab to put in the drain, and the filling in with concrete left some irregularities in the floor (too much fill). to insure that the pan would be level and not flex when stood upon, I put mortar underneath it. almost every person/plumber i talked to recommended using mortar. I regret not doing so on a pan I put in 10 years ago in our upstairs bath. Anyway, the front edge of the finished pan shows a varying gap to the floor, as much as 1/4 ", but the tile that was place next to it covered it up. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice Product This was a replacement shower since the first one we ordered was cancelled by mistake. So when we went to reorder it was out of stock, so it was replaced with this one. Thanks to Tammy at Store #4180 she was fantastic in helping us straighten out the order. The shower went in fairly easy after we made some changes t the walls. It is finally in & looks great. We are very pleased with our new shower. July 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it, love it, love it... Very comfortable shower, plenty of room and the seat is wonderful. July 9, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by this is a quality shower, however one panel did not hook up as it should I received the shower in short order, only the base was missing. We talked with several people at Home Depot about the missing base and was told it would take a couple of weeks to get it. The shower unit came in three days. We finally got the base and rescheduled the plumber to install it. One wall would not go into the slots as it should and also had a chip come out of the side we figured we could fix it with caulking compound. Should not have to do that but after waiting this long we wanted the shower in. We love it, just a royal pain to get it. Would not recommend ordering this way. Wait until you can find one in the store. February 11, 2014
