What is the actual SOAKING depth of this tub? this is not the height from floor to top of tub. this is the number of inches from floor of tub to the bottom of the overflow drain mounted beneath the faucet. thank you!
Asked by: Barb
Hi Barb, my name is Sarah with Sterling. I'm glad to answer your question. The soaking depth is 9-3/8″ (238 mm) and requires 44 gallons of water. Thank you for choosing Sterling.

There are some advantages to this product (one of which being price when it's on sale), but some significant disadvantages as well. I just finished installing one in a low budget diy bathroom renovation and I don't think I would choose this model again knowing what I know now. If you do decide to purchase it, here is some advice: 1.) Most of the walls seem to ship with small cracks or other damage. Inspect it very carefully upon receiving it. Check the walls for cracks and also along the bottom to be sure that the two metal brackets are intact. 2.) You absolutely *must* install the tub in a mortar bed or the tub will eventually crack. This is rather difficult because you will need to try to avoid covering the area of the floor where the feet sit with mortar or it will be nearly impossible to level (and it must be *perfectly* level for the walls to sit correctly). I made a paper template of the bottom and marked the floor where the feet set. You will also need to avoid the mesh that provides structure for the front. 3.) Be very careful when screwing into the wall, this material is very brittle and easy to crack. Also, the best screws to use are GRK low profile washer head cabinet screws (available at HD). Make sure they are "Climatek coated". 4.) When roughing the tub spout, make sure you use a female nipple in the wall rather than soldering the pipe or you will not be able to install the wall on that side due to how it "clicks" down into the back wall. Good luck!
