Customer Questions & Answers

What, exactly, is the appropriate door width for this model?

Several people have asked this question and the answers given are either incorrect or they are answers to a different question. Please do not re-state the dimensions of the unit - everyone can plainly see this online. What is asked is regarding the door width that is allowable. The PDF on specs for the unit state, under Technical Information, "door width required: 44 5/8" which contradicts the information given out on these Q and A entries. Someone from Sterling has responded, for example, that a Kohler Fluence door of 47 5/8" will fit the ensemble in question, which is clearly inaccurate. Sloppy. Somebody PLEASE take a serious look at the specs and deliver a considered, correct answer. I want to purchase the product, but I cannot do so until and unless somebody gives me reliable intel about the appropriate door size for this unit.

I just installed one of these and the door opening is 44 5/8" wide X 71" high. You will need to go with a door that has a frame for this unit. You can reference the Dreamline door Model # SHDR-1248728-01 on the Home Depot web site to see what I mean. You just cut the top and bottom rails to fit your door opening. Range is 44" to 48" opening. Look for a door that installs 70" high.
