Hello, my name is Sarah with Sterling. I am glad to address your shower door question. With the shower door being 2" higher than your shower surround, to install the shower door, you would need to shim the wall jams at the top to allow for the jams to be mounted to the wall. If you have any other installation question, please contact our Customer Service team at 1-800-456-4537. Thank you for choosing Read More

This door will fit to your specifications of 55" as it will fit an Installation width opening of 54-3/8 to 59-3/8 in. in length. You will just have to cut it to length. Be careful though and measure the top and bottom, as it may be out of plumb. This may be due to settling or maybe improper installation. The reason why is that the top could be shorter or longer than the top or vice versa, which means it Read More

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We love it Perfect replacement door for our newly remodeled bath. Originally bought the frosted door, but returned for the clear glass, love the look, door was very easy to install and glass is heavey duty, easy to keep clean with a sqeegy. great door forthe price, looks more expensive than it was May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great shower door choice! So glad we chose this style for our shower. Love the clear glass which shows off the beautiful tile job! We keep a squeegie in the shower to clean after every use to prevent buildup of soap scum on the glass. Having bars both inside and out is great because of our limited space in the bathroom. Style coordinates perfectly with our tile and fixtures and was very easy to install contrary to some of the reviews I have read. If you read the instructions first and follow it goes much more smoothly! July 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by clean looking shower enclosure A bit complicated to install but end results looks really good. If I had a choice would not want the trim on the bottom of the glass doors, making them completely frameless. Overall end appearance is very clean and neat, quite a few compliments! March 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Painted-on finish chips terribly--looks awful This door looked beautiful for about 3 months, then began to chip. Kohler/Sterling replaced a door but it did the same thing. Now I'm stuck with a terrible looking door with bare silver metal showing through. They are offering to send me all the parts that are chipped (almost every metal part) for $220. No way, since it'll do the same thing. Don't buy this door! September 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice The door looks good. Just what I wanted. The door slides fine but a little rough. October 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice finishing touch! I was not the person installing this shower door but my contractor had no problems with it. It looks very nice on my new stall shower and slides easily. November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd Sterling shower doors purchased I purchased a Sterling Deluxe Shower door 16 years ago. It worked well and lasted quite a while. I purchased the Sterling Finesse this time. A bit more money, but well worth it. The shower doors were fairly easy to install. The directions were understandable. I just took my time and followed the direction carefully. Came out looking very nice. The CleanCoat technology seems to work well. After using the shower, the water dries off the doors without leaving streaking or water marks. If this one last 16 years, we will be very happy! October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great doors This was easy to install. I did caulk all around, inside and out as the issue with our other was water on the floor. Didn't want to have to deal with it again. As a reference, I took pictures of the doors "put together" in the Home Depot shower door dept. I did watch two videos on you tube on installation. One was put out by Kohler made for these doors. The other was an individual installing these doors. Both had great info. I used the Kohler one as I was installing. I did pause the video as I went along. The door themselves are great. As I stated, our issue was water on the floor. These doors do not have an interior frame holding the water in so as we shower the water runs straight into the base instead of building up and pouring out of the outer track. I would highly recommend them. They are working great. BTW, I too read all the reviews both on Home Depot site and off. This is the one that worked best for us. We think it looks great too. Oh, and I bought the base at Lowes as Home Depot did not have the one I wanted. But I bought the surround from Home Depot. They work great together. September 26, 2016
