Does this unit have a horizontal towel bar on one of the doors?

Asked by: GBurg505
Mine did not. I believe there's another one out there that has this included or you may be able to purchase it as an option.

Cutting necessary for 58" opening?

Will it be necessary to cut any of the framework to fit a 58" tub wall to wall?
Asked by: Mavirek
Yes. I can't recall the length of the pieces when they arrived but I know mine was in the range you are mentioning and I had to cut some off. It was really easy with a hack saw and cheap plastic miter box.

It was really easy to install and took me about 40 minutes. The overall quality is pretty good but the doors need another guide or something on the bottom part as it seems a little flimsy. Otherwise, I think this will work just fine for our purposes. No instructions included but they are readily available on the Sterling website. I viewed them in my iPad while I worked on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tub Shower door for the money Just installed. Looks good. It's almost three times less expensive than another shower door I bought that was a total joke. This one looks decently and is more affordable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A reasonable product Hardest part was removing my previous hard plastic shower "curtain door" with all its screws and residual glue. Very good instructions (25 Steps, Eng Spa or Fr) but you must stare very carefully at pictures to get things oriented correctly. The specified hole size for the one plastic guide screw was too big so found another screw (Step 4). Used 24-point/in hacksaw instead of 32, was fine. Did not have to face tile, just composite shower/tub insert. My walls were not exactly parallel but product has some adjustment. Stuck on my own tiny handles (one stick-on was provided) . Would be nice to have the version with a towel rack but at $120 OK not to have one. Could probably buy a stick-on rack if needed. Advice: measure 5 times, cut once, there are only two cuts to make. A too-short error here means Game Over. A file (I used a medium-cut flat one) is required to curve two aluminum frame edges to fit tub, some manual skill and time required here. Total job over several days perhaps 6 hours including 2 removing previous stuff, you should not rush this job. Used GE Silicon II at the end, adjusted doors, they roll very smoothly inside the top rail, lower rail is just a guide. Outfacing side of glass doors is mottled, inside is smooth. I sure hope this is tempered glass, you might want to verify that, did not see markings on the glass. This is not a heavy duty design (but also not totally flimsy), and I am happy with the result given the price. Saved $75 shipping charge by doing free HD pickup, package is large but fits into an SUV. It is the height which is 56 7/16", not critical. You will be cutting the 59" horizontal upper and lower rails. Measure your tub carefully before ordering this product.
