Answer:
Hello,
No, Tuff II does not require an adhesive. It can be applied directly to concrete, stone, or foam board insulation. Make sure the surface you are applying it to is dry and clean. Cover the surface with a self adhering fiberglass mesh, and apply Tuff II.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by As expected We were unable to purchase Concrete Foundation Coating locally, hence the order from Home Depot. Delivery was not particularly fast, but product arrived safely. June 21, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Stuff I just keep saying to myself, 'Man, this stuff is tuff.' And then I laugh because that is its name. When you first apply this, you think it won't set up as strong as it does. The warnings about not applying in direct sunlight are no doubt because it begins to set up quickly and then you end up messing up the partially set up area. You'll see...it isn't all that big a deal, but hot sun doesn't give you much time to work. Unless you are going to apply it at night, you will end up experiencing this. The product is fantastic. It becomes almost flexible concrete. It is difficult to get it off your tools, but who cares. May 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does a Nice Job My husband and I covered our concrete block foundation with this, it did a nice job. It's messy, but easy to use, water clean up and really made a huge difference in how our foundation looks. If you look close and are very observant, you can see that I put it on thicker than my husband, but....I don't think anyone would really notice, and if they did, I don't think I care! March 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks awesome! This coating is thin so it's a little difficult to handle since you can't get that much on the trowel. It's going to take me quite a while to finish my entire foundation, but it's going to look wonderful! So far I've only worked on it an hour or so and completed an eight foot section, but already have had many complements. It does set up really fast, so make sure you get it the way you want it to look very quickly. I'm a 58 year old female, so if I can do it anyone can! October 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product We are using on our basement. We have foam insulation boards on the outside of concrete. We were looking for something to cover and protect the foam. This looks great and concrete gray matches our home, would highly recommend this to anyone wishing to touch up or on a new project. September 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Making a bad foundation look good When covering block that has been tooled between the blocks, you will need to trowel it on twice to make the joints disappear. I recommend going over it once troweling the Tuff II in only the joints with the first coat because it does shrink when it cures. The next day, do the entire wall surface and most joints will have disappeared. We sprayed on a final coat, diluted as recommended with water so it would come out of the texture hopper nicely. It looks great!! And, the finished look made the house worth far more than the cost of the material. If you're applying it in warm weather, and want to get a smooth look, you will need to work relatively fast. You can't rub a damp sponge in circles like you can with a mortar stucco; you have to pat it gently with the damp sponge and sometimes dab a little fresh Tuff II on stubborn areas.. Make sure the walls have been acid and pressure washed well and dry before applying. August 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Coating Easy to apply , easy to work with. Cleaned up easy with water. July 24, 2015
