Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product but could be better No complaints about this product except that it should have a remote control. January 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So expensive looking and works well I bought the heater to heat my sunroom and it Works perfectly. It even adds an appealing look to my room. Many have commented how nice it is and want to know where I found it!! January 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small, but works great in our Kitchen and Dining area. Nice and warm. We have an open kitchen/dining area with a vaulted ceiling and a patio door and it is open to the living room. We previously had a honey-well forced air heater in this space. If it was pointed at you, you could stay comfortable. But this infrared fireplace works much better. It won't heat the whole space, we still use the furnace, but it does a fantastic job at making the kitchen/dining area much warmer and more comfortable. We got this on a big sale, so it is an excellent value and deal to us. I would recommend this to my family and friends. I took one star away due to features. My mother-in-law has a similar one that has push button controls and a remote. This one has 3 switches, Power, Medium Heat, and High heat. The switches are upside down. Meaning to turn the unit on, you push them down instead of up. No biggie, but seems silly. The other thing is that the fan turns on automatically after a minute, when it gets warmed up. But you cannot turn the whole unit off and walk away. You have to turn the two heater switches off, and leave the Power/fireplace light switch on until the unit cools enough to have the fan automatically shut off. It would be much nicer to be able to shut it down and walk away and have the fan stop automatically. Most other heaters I've had do this, including my mother-in-law's unit. I suppose you could shut it all off, but that would probably shorten the life of the unit, and the instructions tell you not to shut the power off until the fan stops. So overall, nice and comfortably warm for a larger area. Small and compact to sit in between the kitchen and dining area. Some wonky controls that could be better. But I like it and I'll keep it. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Better heaters out there. I ended up returning this. First of all, it had a horrendous smell, sort of like an oil refinery. I aired it out for over a week after removing it from its package. Then I fired it up, and the smell got worse again. Had to put it outside again. During the 3 weeks it sat on my deck, it continued to stink. 2nd, it looked like plastic; very unpleasing in appearance. 3rd, the flame looked very fake. 4th, it had no thermostat. No thermostat on a space heater! That was the final straw. I returned it. Was able to replace it with something much cuter, cheaper, odorless, and with a thermostat and remote control. March 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An attractive little heater. Compared to other small heaters like this, this one adds both ambiance and good looks to any room. I personally would prefer a choice in the shade of brown, but the quality is excellent. Even though it doesn't have a thermostat, It doesn't overheat at all, so one is not necessary. I don't notice much difference in the two heat settings, but can tell the difference in temperature from one room to the next. Being on rollers makes it very portable and easy to move around, too. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. Heats well, quiet, looks nice. I have this in an 11' x 15' room. It heats it plenty even on the low setting. There is a low, high, and "light" only setting. This way you can have the flame effect without the heat, or two heat settings. You can adjust the brightness of the flame effect light, so if you want the heat on, but no fire light, you can turn the light off. On the high setting it will keep the room hotter that you would ever need it. It has a real nice wood finish that looks nice. Great product. January 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! This heater is the first one of it's kind I ever purchased and it works great. To early to tell what the effect is on my electric bill but I have been using it in my finished rec room and turned the heat off in that room which is at least 1,000 sq feet. I have oil heat which is at an all time high. January 21, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A lot of money to throw away! Maybe $200 isn't a lot for some but it is for me! It is suppose to heat up to 1000 sq. feet...Yeah right! I can barely feel it unless right on top of it! I can careless about the size of it but I did expect it to work...totally disappointed!!! February 25, 2014
