This was easy to install - provides a lot of resistance for a minimal investment. As of today untested by burglars but I have no doubts that it will slow them down a little. You may want to paint the door frame prior to install.

I was looking for something to make my house less accessible to break-in and make the door frame stronger. It was easy to install. We tried inserting a flexible knife and it did not go through so I'm hopping this helps or makes things harder for thieves to break into my house.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TheGuyWhoWroteThis Very easy install. Took about 30 minutes.
I was happy with this purchase, as it certainly did beef up the front door, and it only took me about 30 minutes to install. The only negative I have is that I would have liked more screws, especially for how much it cost. I can't imagine this cost the manufacturer more than $10. I would have liked more screws, because I could not find the square head type screws anywhere (I tried Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc...), and I wanted to reinforce the hinges with stronger hardware. It seems like this should be part of the kit, since the kit's purpose is to strengthen the entire door.

This product was very easy to install. The biggest headache was chiseling to make the strike plate flush with the door jamb, but I'd have to do that anyway when installing a new strike plate. The double strike plate is extremely solid - very strong. The end piece that fits over the door went on quite easily. The latch holes that are predrilled into it fit a standard door setup, so there should be no reason to have to modify it if you have a standard type of setup: door knob and one deadbolt. I have two deadbolts, so I had to modify mine, but it was simple to do. I have not tried kicking in my door to test the product, so I cannot attest to the product's ability to withstand a kick, but it does feel like it could. I felt the product was a bit expensive for what it is. I don't feel that what you get in the kit justifies its $90 price tag, but that’s what other brands are charging for these kits, so we don’t have much choice in the matter.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bobbybell Does not fit all doors
We purchased 2 sets and were only able to use 1. Both doors have magnetic door alarms, so I had to cut a 1" hole. The cut outs on the door piece, did not match the door lock/deadbolt. Both my doors already had individual steel strike plates that wrapped around the door jam from the manufacturer and would have had to remove the molding to install completely.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Julie This product allows me to feel safe both at home and away once again!
Our house was broken into by having the back door kicked in. Parts of the door frame flew ten feet into the room and the frame was in shambles. Those little screws that come with the locks are useless. This reinforcement kit was super easy to install and now we feel comfortable both in and away from home. The only recommendation we have is use a good set of wood chisels, it will make the installation so much quicker and neater.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ccd3 Great Product!
So glad we found this at Home Depot. We live in what we think is a safe area, but recently robbers kicked through back doors of houses and got away before police could get to the neighborhood. My husband travels for work often and I am home alone with our 3 young children. Definitely feel safer now. Instructions were easy to follow and it took us about 45 minutes to put on our door.
