how it works

Don't let moths dine on your best dinner jacket or your favorite dress. This powerful trap will alert you to moth problems and help to prevent their damage. The Safer Brand clothes moth alert trap lures adult moths using powerful pheromones and then traps them. This clothes moth trap offers an economical and convenient natural pest control solution to moths damaging your furniture and clothing. Lasts up to 12 weeks as it traps adult moths, not larvae. Use this product to attract the clothes moth and we recommend using Safer Brand flying insect killer which kills the clothes moth and other flying insects on contact. This is the perfect 1-2 combination to eliminate the harmful effects of the clothes moth. Hang trap at eye level in closest and rooms to be protected. Pay special attention to items containing wool, cashmere, or other animal hair. Use one or two traps for an average size room. Replace traps after 12 weeks.

which type of clothes mouth do these attract?

There are two types of clothes moths, the web moths and the case moths. Most traps I've seen only work for one kind since the pheromones are species specific. Does this trap gave pheromones for both? If only one, which one? It's hard to find products for case moths.
Asked by: Babs48
My experience is with clothes moths that like wool and silk. The trap seems to catch those.

How do I get rid of the ones in clothes drawers. Where do I put the trap? and how do I get rid of the Larva?

Asked by: sally
This product kill off moths. It just tells you they are there. You have to clean all your clothes, items, etc in y our drawers or anywhere else. Wash, dry, and or dry clean. Another alternative is to put items you can't dry clean (or can't spend the money) in the freezer for a week. Wait a week and do it again. This may take care of lavae that hatch after the freezing and then put in the freezer to kill them. Y ou have to clean out all your drawers - vacuum and wash them. You have to be very diligent about cleaning anywhere you have clothing wool rugs (vacuum both sides) by cleaning, vacuuming and being diligent and organized and thorough. The only other alternative is m oth balls. Moth balls are toxic. You should not handle with bare hands or breath the fumes. That means you need to isolate items with mth balls in tight plastic bins etc. If you see moths flying around you probably have moths in places you haven't thought of. Clean out closets, check wool items clean and isolate so moths can't get to them. Wool rugs should be vacuumed every week so moths don't take hold. Hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pinning Down Moth Problems I have a house full of oriental rugs. Once in a while I accidentallyintroduce clothes moths when I buy something new--especially by mail on Ebay. Once I see them flying around, I buy Safer traps to help me isolate outbreaks by room (then keeping doors closed) then treating the infected rugs--rather than every one of them, throughout my house. This allows me to enjoy my hobby, and continue collecting, without the fear that I may lose control over these very destructive pests. Thanks Safer! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I had tried several things to get rid of moths, non of them worked, the only thing it did was to make my house smell bad. After purchasing the Moth Traps from your company, from the very first day, I have not seen a moth. I would recommend your product to anyone that has a problem with moths flying around. They are hung in my house and I know I will purchase more. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Indicator This is the third time I have purchased the Safer clothes moth traps. They really do attract the moths, and although Safer warns that they are just to indicate that moths exist, in my case, because we have trapped so many, they definitely have decreased in numbers. In fact, I have not seen any indicators of their "work" in several months. Good product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
