I am assuming if this were used outdoors, it would rust. How well sealed is against wind and rain?

Thank you.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy enough cabinet, poor quality control We bought this cabinet from Home Depot's in-store pickup primarily for the security of knowing that if it arrived damaged, we wouldn't have the hassle of returning it ourselves. Fortunately, the packaging was in good shape. Unfortunately, when we unpacked the unit we found slightly bent edges, a few dents and minor scrapes in the powdercoat finish down to bare metal. While it's possible this minor damage happened during shipping, the condition of the outer packaging would indicate not. We were able to correct the bent edges with a pair of pliers and start to assemble the unit. Then we noticed that the instructions we received were amazingly minimal - just some diagrams. Normally not a big deal except the diagrams was for a different unit with fewer parts. Again, it's not rocket science and we were able to figure it out, but then discovered we were short about a dozen nuts and bolts. There were not even enough to have completed the unit shown in the diagrams. We were able to quickly contact the manufacturer who agreed to send us more fasteners. Sadly, the were sent FedEx ground and took another 5 days to arrive. To top it off, they were not the same fasteners. The machine screws that came with the unit had small ridges under the head that grabbed the surface making it possible to tighten the nut without a lock washer. The new fasteners had small dots for the same purpose that did not really work at all. Overall, the unit is assembled and is working as it should, so that's fine and the for the price we paid it was an acceptable value. I do recommend opening it and inspecting before you leave the store to ensure you have all your parts. August 30, 2016
