I purchased this as a gift for my dad to replace his old mailbox. It is durable, well-made and very attractive! It has held up wonderfully over the past few years since he received and installed it!

Excellent quality, thick metal, but the decorative part that holds up the mailbox got damaged ( a week after installation) and there is no way to get a replacement - can't find any info on getting parts or anything.
But, like I said it's great quality :)

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MrRevo Not a universal mailbox post
The post looks fine and is sturdy enough, but understand that the arm has holes that are designed for a mailbox from the same manufacturer. It is not a universal fit. Not even close. Also, the rear lip on the arm only works with a mail box with a 1/2" lip at the rear. The mailbox I purchased had a 1" lip. So, I had to cut a 1/2 thick riser (I used an old PVC cutting board) and then drill holes in it and the bottom of the mailbox to make it match the holes in the mailbox arm. It is done and like I said, it looks fine and is sturdy. But it was a lot of unplanned work and I had to buy another $5 worth of screws as the ones that came with it are carriage bolts and I wasn't able to cut square holes in my mailbox.. Unfortunately, this is an item that has to be ordered so you can't see all these problems in advance. I purchased my mailbox for $50. The most similar one from this manufacturer costs $100, and still isn't quite as nice. Also, this post is designed to go straight into the ground about 20", not over a 4"x4". .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hawkeye Decorative, bronze color
The decorative post is not cheap, but it's very attractive --why not...it sits in the very front of your yeard. We found the bronze color which was more difficult to find. The problem we ran into was the bar that holds the mailboxes is not "generic" so it won't fix any and all mailboxes...which we didn't realize until it was cemented in. Thus, the bronze box I purchased--and the reason I bought a bronze post--couldn't fit together!
The holes in the bottom don't line up and even if we drilled new holes, the back of the post has a lip where the mailbox lip fits...but other boxes may have deeper/wider lips so they won't fit. Salisbury should tell us that when you purchase a post. One would assume any mailbox would fit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave A quality product !
This product was more expensive than that of other manufacturers. It is well worth the additional cost. This mailbox post is constructed of heavy duty aluminum and has a very attractive white powder coated paint finish. Assembly was effortless and all needed hardware was included. After setting the post in the ground and attaching the mailbox ( ordered later) I am very pleased with the quality and look of this product. My old mailbox would not attach to this post, so I ordered a new one from the same manufacturer. The combination looks great. I highly recommend this product !

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ska2000 Very high quality mailbox post
I am expremely pleased with my choice of Salsbury mailbox post. The powder coating was flawless. The Aluminum post and mailbox bracket are of heavy gauge aluminum. The cast bracket support is, again, well made and the powder coating is excellent. Salsbury included more bolts/hardware than is needed. This is a mailbox post built to last, and it's only a few dollars more than all the PVC plastic posts out there. For some reason, only the PVC posts are stocked in my local stores? After rejecting the posts stocked in my local HD, I had to search the internet to find a post I liked; and l was surprised that I found it on home Depot's web site. Why aren't these posts sold in the stores? Too many colors and options to stock in the stores, I guess?
