The ice maker creates ice on top and keeps the ice maker from making ice. Am I not doing something right or temperature not set properly? My troubleshooter does not have anything similar to my problem.

Answer:
You will need at least 1 1/2" of wall clearance to open the door 90 degrees. Even then, you may not be able to fully open all the drawers. To fully open both doors, you need approx 135 degrees of clearance, which means the doors each require approx 12" of wall clearance around the door hinges.

Answer:
You will need at least 1 1/2" of clearance around the door hinges to open the door 90 degrees. Even then, you may not be able to fully open all the drawers. Ideally, I would recommend 12" of clearance on both sides of the door hinges to ensure you will be able fully access all drawers. I don't believe this is the best refrigerator to place beside a full wall.

22.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Black, Counter Depth is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 221.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked fine first 9 months then Ice Maker started leaking! We purchased this refrigerator in July of 2015. We have been very satisfied for the most part. The ice maker started leaking several months ago. The water dispenser works fine. The ice maker does make ice, not necessarily cubes but it is ice. We purchased the Home Depot Protection Plan. Initially we were glad we did. At this point it is up for debate. After having 3 service techs out the problem has not been resolved. All 3 of them have told us different things. We are so frustrated at this point we want the refrigerator replaced! Waiting for a Service Adviser to call us back. Stay tuned...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last a year and a half I purchased this refrigerator from HD March of 2015. The refrigerator began having issues towards the end of July 2016...so a year and four months after my initial purchase. I called Samsung the day I heard my issue, but they weren't able to provide service to the unit for 11 days. Refrigeration stopped working yesterday and today I was told today it would cost $7xx to repair the unit. I can risk spending another dime on this junk. The complexity of the refrigerator also means I can't go to alternative service centers for competing bids. I'm now also out the cost of my food.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from STEP AWAY FROM THE SAMSUNG!!! If I could back up time and step away from this BRAND I would definitely run as fast as I could in the other direction. First it arrived damaged, and Samsung refused to have any part of replacing the freezer door. Then after less than a year the sensor in the freezer goes out and we have no freezer. After multiple calls to Samsung repair, we finally got someone to give us a call and order a service visit...took three weeks for them to show up. Even though the refrigerator is within it's year's warranty, we had to pay for the service call up front, then pay for the part it needs when it arrives...in another three weeks. We MIGHT get our money back after we file a claim with Samsung...don't know how to do that yet. Be afraid...be very afraid!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great deal! had to replace my ge profile french door counter depth fridge that i bought eight years ago for almost 3,000.00, and after 7 years paid 500.00 to fix, but it never worked right anymore anyway. bought this samsung as a floor model a few weeks ago, saved tons of money and so far i'm loving it. never was one to drink water from a water dispenser on fridge, but i must say the water is delicious, and ice cold. delighted at the deal i got. beautiful refrigerator.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Home Depot great, this fridge, not so much... I had a limited selection because I needed a black counter depth refrigerator. I love the design and look of this refrigerator, Samsung does a nice job on the details. I admit I did not do enough research upfront, I mostly read positive reviews and took the negative the ones with a grain of salt. Out of the box, the water dispenser worked so I was not too concerned. Just a few hours later the water dispenser would not work, and it never really produced ice. After checking the lines reading the instruction booklets resetting the icemaker in hopes that something was missed. It still never produced ice! In researching a possible repair/solution I started reading more reviews and then decided to review Consumer Reports. My conclusion is this model was badly designed and probably not Samsung's best refrigerator. Maybe it's me, but a refrigerator is not something I want to continuously mess with or call a repair man for. Julie at Home Depot (Coors and I – 40 in Albuquerque) was great and helped me to exchange it for a more reliable model and I could not be happier! The model I ended up with was RS22HDHPNBC, A Samsung black counter depth side-by-side. It's not as good-looking as this one nor does it have all the bells and whistles, but I will take reliable simplicity over unreliable fancy! Thank you Julie for your help, a loyal Home Depot customer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do your research! Wish we had done our research. Just 13 months after purchase, ice maker froze up and had to call repair service. Now, one month later they are back again to fix the same thing. Told this was a very common problem and we can expect to call them every 30 to 60 days. Research now shows it is such a problem there is now a class action lawsuit against Samsung. Samsung customer service has been no help. All they do is send a repair man out and he even gets the run around from Samsung as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product Purchased less than 3 months ago. The main draw was dual ice makers. First thing is it is small. The bins on the side that the ice despenses hold nothing. Not worth having. We open packages of kraft cheese singles and put them there. I have not hit my 3 month mark and it died. DEAD. Samsung support was horrible. I was told they would use the manufacturing date unless I could provide proof of purchase. I sent an email of the receipt and asked that they review then and schedule a repair. I told them I would like to get this fixed quickly as I am going to lose the food in the refrigerator. I was bluntly told no. They have to proof and verify my my receipt and my claim that I purchased it recently. I was told it would take several days. I was treated like I was trying to scam the company. At this point all can do is wait. I will never buy a Samsung appliance again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it This French door model had all the features we needed: Counter depth, white color, exterior dispenser, and separate cooling for the freezer. It has lots space for produce and a great shelving layout. The water/ice dispenser on the door is tall - enough for large travel mugs. We have had the unit for exactly 6 months with zero problems. The ice maker is small capacity but is fine for 2 or 3 people. For some odd reason the white model has 1 ice maker in the refrigerator section for the door dispenser while the stainless version has a second ice maker in the freezer section. We prefer the extra freezer space without the second ice maker and can manage with the ice output.. The unit is slightly louder than our old unit but I expected that with the dual cooling system and the noise is never objectionable. Cost was the biggest negative but counter-depth units all seem to be priced too high.
