Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by YY22 Modern Look. Older homes may require valve change on waterline for ANY new fridge with icemaker regardless of brand and model.
My Mom loves this fridge! It gives a modern look to your kitchen. Delivery team was helpful by explaining features. Most newer homes have a regular shutoff valve in their kitchen where the fridge connects to the waterline. If installing fridge with icemaker in an older home, check to see what type water shutoff valve you have in your kitchen BEFORE fridge is delivered. Icemaker on our old frig was connected to waterline using a needle nose valve. Home Depot won't allow their delivery people to connect ANY refrigerators with icemakers to home waterlines that have needle nose valves because needle nose valves have a tendency to leak. This requirement is for all fridges that have icemakers (regardless of brand or model) and not just for this specific refrigerator. We had to reschedule the delivery and have someone install a regular shutoff valve in our kitchen's plumbing.
The spill proof shelves are in both the fresh food and freezer. Shelves slide out easily and can be adjusted using one hand. The ice bin on the RS25H5111SR is very easy to remove. Just squeeze the tab on each side and it pops out... Easy breezy. On some other fridges seems like you were disassembling the fridge just to remove the ice bin. I saw the fridge in a retail store before purchasing and liked the interior LED lights. If you have the opportunity to do the same you can determine if the lighting suits your taste and needs. Water filter is centrally located and will be easy to change on your own.
We've only had the fridge a little while so I can't comment much on quality but it seems well made.

After checking with other online retailers, consumer reports, in store models and from our personal experiences with several brands; we chose this model as the best, for the price, for us. I was apprehensive about it fitting and how it might look (didn't want the new coating that is gray and not stainless steel). I am very pleased with our purchase, the fit and all the amenities. After reading a lot of reviews I wondered if there were any good refrigerators out there as it seemed there were negative comments about everyone. There is some noise but nothing extraordinary, the ice and water dispenser works well and we have had plenty of ice. We decided to go with the side-by-side over the French doors with bottom freezer because we didn't have enough space to easily get into a bottom freezer and the side-by-side seemed to give a bigger quantity of ice per day. It was also less expensive than the popular bottom freezer types. Very pleased with purchase.

The first model was delivered and it had a bad water leak. Second unit stopped working exactly three months after it was installed. It died a very sudden death. Glad we were home when it happened. Samsung is no help. It's been 12 days now and still waiting for a tech.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DK Samsung Refrigerator Customer Service Awful
My Samsung broke very quickly and while it is still under warranty they will not fix it. I can't find the receipt and even though the refrigerator was manufactured last year (there is a 5 year sealed system warranty) they will not cover it without my proof of purchase. Prior to this, they sent 3 different technicians to my house who were not qualified to do sealed system refrigerator repairs. Finally they sent a qualified technician and he said he couldn't do the job without the proof of purchase. Every Samsung representative told me on the phone that I didn't need the proof of purchase because the serial number shows that it was manufactured last year. All of a sudden they changed their position and told me that I need the proof of purchase. They will find anything they can to get of their warranties. Do not trust this company, do not trust their warranties. When you purchase any product/appliance, you should also place a high value on customer service should something go wrong with the unit. Stay away from Samsung.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mojo Nice Product; Not So Nice Service from Samsung
First, I have only great things to say about Home Depot. They were wonderful to work with and I felt they gave me the best price. Second, I do love my refrigerator for the looks and great features. It was difficult for me to choose "no" for would I recommend this product.
A serious problem arose with the refrigerator four months after I bought it new and I found out Samsung's service is horrible. I am not exaggerating the "horrible" part.
To attempt to make a long story short: after about four months of use a very loud noise arose in a fan which ran intermittently. When I called Samsung service I was instructed to pull the refrigerator away from the wall and check the water lines. I told the service rep that I was not able to pull the refrigerator out and that I did not think the problem had anything to do with the water line. I was told that a Samsung repair technician would call me. After two days and no calls, I called Samsung service again and was told that someone in their repair department had made a decision that the problem was due to the refrigerator not being installed properly and that the product was not covered under warranty. When I told her that was not possible and argued that if the refrigerator was not installed properly why did this problem not come up sooner, all I got was a flat and curt - you're responsible for the problem; it's not covered.
When I asked to speak with the person who made the determination, I was told they don't take calls. OK, can I speak with his/her supervisor - they don't take calls. OK, can I speak with your supervisor - no, but she can call you back in 24 - 48 hours.
Round and round I went trying to contact the folks who installed it, phone call transfers, dead ends for hours but finally I wound up somehow back in the Samsung service department. When I went through the whole story, she agreed it would be covered under warranty. I also had difficulty finding a local repair company who still serviced Samsung - two out of the three that Samsung gave me no longer service Samsung.
Finally, the local tech came out, found a faulty fan, ordered a replacement and fixed it. I am once again enjoying my refrigerator, but am also very worried that something else will happen. So, folks - beware.

We purchased this one on sale, which was one factor. ($450 off retail)
These new fridges are large, so I had to do a little cabinet work above the week before.
(Definitely check the measurements in the product PDF...even with the doors off the fridge, I had to remove some weather stripping to get it in the back door).
Having said all that...this thing is awesome!
#1 So quiet.
#2 You can configure the shelves pretty much anyway you like.
(We like the milk, tea pitcher, OJ, other tall containers on the top shelf as opposed to the doors. No problem here).
#3 The ice maker in the door may have a little smaller bin, but the room you save in the freezer is huge!
#4 I never considered the LED lighting before...but this makes a HUGE difference you'll quickly appreciate.
#5 The "Twin Cooling" I never saw in the owner's manual (had to look online in the marketing material), but it keeps the fridge and freezer air completely separate. No more smelly ice cubes from stuff in the fridge.
Hope I didn't bore you to death.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HappyWnewAppliance Nice Fridge...with a few (minor) shortcomings
Icemaker reservoir is a bit small...you will need more ice if you plan to have a cocktail party...otherwise, great fridge for the price in a good name brand, when compared to others on the market. Small icemaker reserve does allow for much more space in the freezer, as the icemaker reservoir is in the door (our old Amana had a very large bin, but took up the entire upper section of the freezer). Overall very happy with this purchase so far. Others have commented on the lighting being poor, as it is in the back of the unit...it is a bit less well lit than our older traditional, incandescent fridge, but more than adequate unless you have very poor eyesight. I think this fridge is a good, middle of the road, fridge with some features you would not normally see in a fridge in this price range. Thanks Home Depot & Samsung!

Good fridge, very pleased. Nice and quiet. Only minor complaint is that the icemaker dispenses kinda slowly. But the water jet is pretty fast.
