Yes but they'd stick in the dispenser often enough that I only use powder dishwasher detergent now. Yes but they'd stick in the dispenser often enough that I only use powder dishwasher detergent now. The dispenser would pop open at the correct stage of the wash cycle, but the pods - ANY pods - would sort of melt/adhere to the indentation in the dispenser, and still be there when the entire wash/"dry" process ended. This happened at least 20% of the time, and was really frustrating, and of course wasted water and electricity.
The reason for this may be related to the fact there's no good "dry" cycle, so unless the door, with the dispenser open, has been left open to completely dry out between washes (which yes, is awkward and inconvenient), residual moisture could be acting on the gel pods, almost like glue. Or maybe mine has a small leak in the dispenser, causing the same effect.
If I were to try pods again, I might store them in corn starch to see if that helped with the "sticky" issue in the dispenser, but the store brand powder is cheap and a little DOES go a long way on the "Quick" setting - leaving the dishes clean and well rinsed. Read Less

The hose is not long enough, the Home Depot tech coupled the hose with another. Would this create a problem?

Customer Reviews

24 in. Front Control Dishwasher in Black with Stainless Steel Tub is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 593.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good solid dishwasher After researching online for awhile I decided the Samsung was best for me due to value (good price) and reviews (both professional and online). I removed the old dishwasher and managed the installation myself, and it was surprisingly easy. One feature it does not have is an electric drying coil. That wasn't a problem for me, as I always prefer to air dry, but it might bother some. Otherwise I am very happy with the machine. It works well and is extremely quiet. All in all, it's well worth buying.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware This is my first experience buying something defective and not getting any customer support. Paid Home Depot for installation when we bought the washer. The two guys that delivered it looked at the air gap (valve in-line with water outlet to prevent back flow) and said, "duuuuh we don't know what that is. We can't install it." So they left the washer, and I had to install it myself. Shortly after, we started noticing a high pitched sound coming from the machine during rinse cycles. Very annoying. Have been going back and forth with HD and Samsung, trying to get it resolved. They do everything they can to avoid sending someone to look at it. Will never buy Samsung or shop with Home Depot again

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it, but... This dishwasher is very quiet & cleans our dishes well. I just have 2 small complaints. First, the soap dispenser door is not high enough. If you have anything in front of it (tall cutting board, blender, etc.) it will not open during the wash. This has happened to us several times. Once the wash is finished, we open the dishwasher to find the soap still there & never dissolved. Second, there is an awful smell inside the dishwasher. Clean, dirty, empty, or full, the smell never seems to goes away.

Overall i have found the dishwasher to be a good value, looks good and cleans well... my pet peeve and i am sure it is a design flaw and could be esily fixed is that the wheeels on the lower rack that help it slide in and out are not permanetly attached. they simply clip on and on my unit are constantly poping off while trying to move the lower rack, i freguently have the lower rack end up slipping off the rail...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This dishwasher does not clean well, does not dry well, and unbelievably the entire machine is he... This dishwasher does not clean well, does not dry well, and unbelievably the entire machine is held up by one tiny piece of plastic that will fail on you, and Samsung won't repair it. Unlike almost every other machine, this machine has plastic leveling feet [instead of metal]. The plastic leveling feet screw into the bottom of the machine and are supported by one tiny piece of plastic. When ours broke Samsung made it very clear very quickly that they had zero intention of honoring their warranty, even though we were still within the warranty period by about two weeks. Some of the more memorable excuses we were given were: "well, the warranty period is almost over, and Samsung doesn't like to do repairs when the warranty is almost up," and "leveling feet are cosmetic, and we don't cover cosmetic damage." They refused to repair the machine. No more Samsung products for us after this experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oh! you really don't want me to do this!!! My dishwasher was supposed to be installed by a Home Depot employeee on July 25. The two men arrived around 7 pm but managed to figure out a reason why they could not install it. ... saying we have a leak, which we do not have! It was installed the next day by our plumber of many years. He started it and it appeared to be running well, so he left. It never did turn off. We had to unplug it. Today is August 2 and I still have not been able to use it. A Samsung rep is supposed to come out here on Aug. 4. There is an issue with the control panel. I have always liked and trusted Samsumg so am willing to see what the Samsung rep says, but right now ... I am NOT a happy camper!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lower price does not necessarily mean a lesser quality I purchased the entire suite of Samsung products for a recent kitchen remodel. I had originally chosen a model that was much more expensive than this one. After reading the customer reviews I decided against that model and chose this one instead. I love this dishwasher! It is so quite that I had to actually bend down and listen to see if the machine was actually running. The unit does not have a heater. I was not sure I would like that at first but after I realized I could now wash so many items that I previously would not have ever put in a dishwasher - I fell in love! Follow the directions and buy Jet Dry and use the sanitize. You will not be disappointed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected It has to run with the sanitize feature so the dishes won't smell after the wash. It is noisy and more so when it drains the water sounds like a chirping noise. Has no automatic set up and it turns off completely after a few hours so you don't know if the wash went through. I wish I would've known and I will get a better product and not so basic.
