Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CB80920 DO NOT RECOMMEND A SAMSUNG
Panel freeze when frig was 49 days old. It went in display mode. It took about 2 weeks to get the part. I lost everything. I called home depot they charge a 15 percent restore fee. Samsung says it has to brake 3 times before they take it back. Well it broke again. If you plan on calling Samsung for repair plan being on hold a minimum of 45 mins. Over an hour is the norm. Jul was the First time the frig broke and received the check from Samsung for food loss in Oct. I faxed/emailed food inventory 8 times they said they never got it. In order to get reimbursed for meds they wanted my ssan and my med records to verify my med.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bings Why I like it better than the LG version
My last refrigerator was a side by side Amana I purchased in 1985 from Montgomery Wards and still works. I doubt this one will last 30 years but and I am liking it so far.I have a validated purchase at Home Depot and shopped two months. I'll see how it works out in the long run. My neighbor has the LG version so we have done lots of comparing. I almost purchased the LG because of my neighbor but now he likes mine better.
The door in door: I think the Samsung has a better release and locking mechanism design. If you open the full right hand door and realize the product you want is in the door-in-door with Samsung you just grab it from the inside. With LG you have to open plastic inner door or close and reopen.
Samsung: you can actually put a liter bottle in the door. Samsung has sliding inner door shelves. Samsung holds and produces significantly more ice. The frig is set to 35 and freezer set to -5. Might be why ice production is so good.
My neighbor does not have the beverage drawer but it is my favorite feature. We have a swimming pool and when adults or children want sodas or drinks they don't have to open the big doors.
They all love the super cold sodas, drinks and beer.
The Samsung still has a double drawer freezer with plenty of room for us.
The ice maker does take up some room in the frig but I will gladly make that small sacrifice to have enough ice. It has been very quiet so far.
The Samsung's left hand inner door actually holds quite a bit of small to medium items.(jelly jars, tobacco, horseradish, A1, etc.
I like the two larger crisper drawers on the Samsung compared to the three smaller on the LG.
Neighbors LG left side door easily slams shut because of the weight of the ice maker.
With the LG, two large 16oz cups filled with ice and the ice maker is just about empty. Start digging in the freezer for ice.
Appearance is a personal preference. I like the looks better, especially the metal inner door. Very classy looking.
Price: I got a very good deal from Home Depot but I did not choose solely on price.
I choose based on features, functions, usability, appearance and value.
I have had no problems adjusting the shelves to accommodate extra gallon of milk, juice bottles, etc.
Plenty of room even with ice maker.
Durability, I have no idea. I think with modern day refrigerators and their small energy efficient compressors I don't think they are designed to last like my Amana.
Good luck and Happy Shopping

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mom2lots7 I have some issues with my new fridge
We bought this refrigerator to replace an old KitchenAid that came with the house we bought last summer. After owning this refrigerator for about 3 months I would say:
PROS: Space is great. We have four kids at home plus my husband and I. I am in culinary school - I love to cook and experiment with new things so we always have alot of food in the refrigerator.
CONS: It is VERY difficult to keep the stainless finish clean. The fridge we replaced was also stainless but didn't show half of the fingerprints that this one does.
Also, the way the ice maker is designed, you cannot reach in and grab ice - the container is all enclosed so the only way the ice can come out is through the door, into a cup. Also, if the kids overfill their glass and water overflows, there is nowhere for it to go - it just spills out and drips down the door. Nightmare.
Another thing that drives me nuts is that you have to be very careful that everyone shuts the door properly. The door appears to be shut but you walk by later and realize that the digital temp on the door is indicating that the fridge temp is too high. Ditto for the freezer (drawer style) door. We lost an entire drawer of frozen food because the freezer drawer was slightly ajar all night.
I'm not impressed. It's discouraging because I did alot of research before purchase. This is an appliance that wasn't cheap and I'll have to live with it for a long time.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by fridge Don't buy this fridge
The fridge has a design flaw. When you open the freezer drawer there is a loud SNAP sound. According to the Samsung person we spoke with we are lucky. They get complaints on it all the time, but it is "normal". In fact, he said we were lucky because ours started right away. Usually then it goes away after 3 months. Otherwise, it might be fine for a while, but then the snap develops later, and then it never goes away.
Seriously??? They think this is okay? It isn't a normal sound. You can hear it upstairs! Something is going to break...although not on mine because we are returning it. When I tried to have them listen to the noise through the phone they thought I was hitting the phone against the fridge.

Do not buy this refrigerator. After install, control panel frozen. No water, no ice. First technician visit, water and ice fixed but control panel still frozen. Second visit, control panel replaced, still frozen. Third visit, right side door where control panel located replaced. Still control panel frozen. Technician recommended whole refrigerator replacement.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by smiley66 beautiful fridge
My husband and I are so pleased with our purchase. We love the stylish look, the door in door, the external drawer, and the large size. It is very quite. The only noise is the ice falling into the bin. We don't mind that small noise. It is telling us we have ice available whenever we want it. We just retired an old Maytag whose icemaker quit working. We have been using ice trays for quite a while so we are so happy to have ice at the touch of a button again. The service we received at Home Depot was outstanding as well as the delivery. We love everything about this refrigerator. We hope to receive excellent service with no repairs for many years since this is our first Samsung appliance. We have only had this for a short time .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mikekbs1 Little pricey but do love the fridge
Works well no issues looks great and the indoor feature is very convenient. Delivery and installation was flawless from Home Depot. This is not a plant but Lowes gave me the worst service I have ever gotten rececently. I drive farther but it is worth it when the people and service are more knowledgeable and helpful.

This fridge is almost 5 cubic feet larger than our old one and the only way to gain that volume is to go out if you want it to fit into most cabinet cutouts for a fridge. I knew it would stick out from the counter top about 8 inches (our old one was about 4) but when my wife got home, she wasn't too happy about the way it stuck out. She got used to it after a while and now really likes the extra space it provides.
Pros: Lots of space, very good construction quality, great features, fairly quiet and did I mention, lots of space.
Cons: Non adjustable door shelves, limited space for tall items, no egg container (kept the one from the old fridge), a bit noisy.
I think most of the concern about deficiencies was just a matter of getting used to a new fridge after having the old one for 20 years. If you have the room for your fridge to stick out several inches from your counter top, this seems like a quality fridge with many features and copious space.
